Should of never have resigned him.
Writing on the wall when he didn’t start the biggest game in our history
As has been said many times, Pep wanted an additional forward so Rodri and Fern were sacrificed; it is nothing to do with a lack of trust or writing on the wall.

being 1-0 up, 2-0 up in games and bringing him on from benchfor last 20 min to close out the game: yes.

sticking him behind KDB, Grealish, Sterling, Mahrez, Kane who will not help him much when opponents attack is not a very good idea as he is 36 years old facing runners to counter us.

Problem is thats even a hard situation to solve for Rodri who is half the player than Fernandinho was in 13-14 where he alone defended in midfield as Yaya was hardly making a tackle (but in return he scored a shitoad of goals.)

I am worried we lose Bernardo's workrate in middle if he leaves and the balance we had last season we lose, defensively.

we need to bring back some heavy pressing to make it work, not sure we have the fitness to that.
Totally this. He is not Kante anymore..and Kante won’t be Kante in 3 seasons time either.

haven't seen us exposed in counters like that for a long time

has an absolutely infuriating tendency to misread the situation and play 10 times more nonchalantly than required at certain situations which results in a loss of possession. exhibited a number of baffling brain farts today. the problem wasn't just the athleticism, really really poor decision making too.

Unfortunately age is catching up with Dhino, against pace he struggles as does Rodri. Today on the counter Spurs cut us open far too easily.

It's how they're coached by Pep. Stones, Gundogan, Zinchenko, and Rodri are the same. Keep a cool head at all times and be confident in your own ability to play. It almost always works, and there are many times a match that we benefit from it and we don't even realise it.

The problem is that it can backfire pretty hard, such as in the way you've mentioned above. Especially when most of the team looks to be not quite up to speed yet.

I dont think pep wants or instructs the players to let their guard down the minute they win back the ball. But ferna does a lot of the time and kind of "expects" that the opponents will understand they have lost the ball, drop back and defend, at which point you can allow yourself to be more casual and maintain low intensity at the back as you move the ball around. That's a transition period.

The problem is that a lot of the time he does that too early, and not expecting the opponent to give us a taste of our own medicine and press back. He drops his pace and speed and doesn't look who he gives the ball to because he assumes its safe, and ends up losing it. Happened a few times today and against Leicester too!

I think there's merit to this.
