From a purely ego perspective, it makes a lot of sense from his side.

Being seen as the guy who helped us win the Champions League, the same way as Messi would be seen should he get PSG over the line, would certainly feed into his desire to be considered the world's greatest ever player.

From our perspective, it fills a gap on a short term basis and gives us another 1 to 2 years to identify a long term #9, develop Delap further and not be bent over a barrel by Levy.
