Harry Kane

You can't use every player turning Spurs down as validation of your opinion on this. Pau Torres turned us down because his boyhood club is about to play CL football so he wants to stay. If we were in the CL too I could maybe see us attracting him but we aren't, so I understand. At the same time for every Torres, there is a Romero who also walked away from CL football and is a superior CB and he joined us because he believes in Paratici's project. There will always be top players who want to join Spurs, not the very best, we need CL football and deep pockets for those, but there will be good players.

There is also nothing unfair about our valuation. Kane is worth 150 million upwards, we are talking about a player who could finish as the highest PL scorer ever in his prime. He's proven at every level. Strikers like Vlahovic are being touted around for 90 million euros who have one single season of scoring goals in a top league. As I say there is nothing unfair about our valuation, that Kane thought we would let him go to another PL club for 100 odd million is laughable and shows how stupid/naive he is. Kane is easily worth 50 million more than Grealish, there is your reference point right there. Grealish won't win you many games on his own, Kane will. Personally I think it's mad you spent so much on Grealish when Kane should have been your priority, but thats just my opinion.
I agree with you. Spurs are a top club in a fantastic league with one of the best stadiums in the world. I don't agree with your valuation of Kane or your comparison with Grealish because you are failing to take into account age. Grealish has the best years of his career stretching out now in front of him. How long will Kane be banging the goals in? 2-3 seasons? Go beyond that, and I would have doubts. Almost all record signings are players in the Grealish age bracket because they have shown enoigh to be considered potentially world class, or are world class and at the same time have their best years ahead of them. Kane does not come into that bracket. This is why I think Levy might sell because he will know Kane is at peak value, and if he's got his head screwed on he'll realise that there will be a lot of fall out from this.

Let's pull out of this deal and come back in a year, just as United did when given a ludicrous valuation for Sancho. Even at 100 Million, Kane is massively overpriced as qualified by absolute zero interest from anyone else. He has no resale value because of his age, has a horrible injury record, and being in the Spurs team has little-to-zero experience at the highest level.

@Dirty Harry was right.

So you want us to pull out of the deal because of Kane’s age, but want us to wait a year and go for him, when he’ll be a year older? Make it make sense...

i’m sure if his contract was expiring, we’d be competing with a number of different clubs to sign him. as it stands, why would everyone else show interest when he’s made it clear he only wants to move to city? also he’s going to be a year older this time next year, that’s how time works. you can’t use his age as an argument to not pay for him but then say try again next year.

It absolutely fucking isn't.

I know you're being ironic but this is not a topic of amusement as far as I'm concerned. New members (especially of the foreign or young variety) should not be feeling like they're being chased away by longer standing members.

If anyone is feeling the same as Romeo and they aren't brave enough to speak up then feel free to message me directly if you'd like to express your concerns.
Well not to sound harsh but Romeo does have a point. I have seen countless older members bullying or harassing members with low post counts either because they think they are the shit or they immediately feel the newcomers are WUMS. We should try to be inclusive and let others freely express their opinions without be taunted or shot down.

We don't work like that. Kane is the number one target for City. We can bluff and waver all we want... We'll pursue the deal right down to the wire if necessary. Levy knows that.

As I've said on here for ages... City will pay top price for Kane. If we don't sign him, it will be his choice not to come.

It's not a deal-breaker.

No offence but I feel you may need to read my post again if you felt I was arguing against what Romeo was saying.

Although you are right in general.

Agree. Members should try to have rational arguments/counterpoints instead of insulting people ,throwing abuses , calling them rags, liar, flapper and what not. It feels like they don't want any "new fans" in their tight knit group.
But that's the state of most forum , I imagine. Easier said than done.

Getting slightly towards track how are they getting on against Portuguese Norwich without the mighty sir Harry?
