Amazing how people have turned breaking the British transfer record into the club lacking ambition and sitting back.

Last time we defended a league title (the first team to do it in a decade) and won the first clean sweep of domestic trophies in English club football history, it was after we bought 1 player in the summer - Mahrez. A player who broke the club transfer record, played in a position that was already stacked with talent, but Pep knew it would keep everyone on their toes and he was hungry for his chance at the top table of European football.

I can’t believe it either. I stayed up to midnight on deadline day too. Nothing!

People need to lay off him too. It was through my professional work I came in to contact with him many years ago and he has some excellent contacts.

If we did put in our last and final bid yesterday with a deadline on it, then it was a smart move by Txiki given it leaves time to look for an alternative.

Yes losing out on Kane is a bummer but it would have been a hard pill to swallow if we'd had got played by Levy and it happened on deadline day. At least we still have time.
