We do it whenever we fail to break teams down. Last 20 minutes of games like at Spurs last week we put loads of aimless crosses in. Basically the last 20 minutes of games we lose it happens. So most times against the shit these days. Pointless with our usual forward line but wouldn’t be if Ronaldo is in the box.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we don't do it but the Spurs game was a bit different with no KDB and Foden they did look a little out of ideas, but Mendy and Ake didn't help to inspire the confidence to get in and have a go as Spurs did what they did in the league and sit back and wait for the break.......typically bore bore spurs

As an aside ... I attended Stepney's NASL debut with the Dallas Tornado. They brought him out to the center circle in a stagecoach to introduce him to the fans. IIRC, the NASL decided draws back then with a shootout, Americans don't like draws much. Instead of PK's they would have the attacker come in 1v1 from the 35-yard 'offside line' to try and beat the keeper. Bet his head was spinning ... but he did win the shootout as I remember. ha

A few folks have alluded to the fact Ronaldo will want the number 7. His branding is heavily linked to this, I used to work in the advertising for Nike and all the artwork and boots are plastered with CR7 so they will want the number.

I genuinely think this could cause an issue which sounds crazy.

Didn’t Ronaldo have the number 9 shirt in his first season with Madrid? At this stage of his career I’d be surprised if he was that arsed - better playing for us than just choosing a club with a vacant 7 shirt.

I am sure Sterling would be okay with taking another number (maybe 9) if that is the case. I don't think he is going to be stubborn about holding Ronaldo coming to City because he won't let go of the shirt number.

I said yesterday I can see him accepting reduced wages here, then going to NYCFC as their star player on mega money. He would monopolise the States and earn a fortune. He'd take that financial 'hit' and shop at Aldi for a couple of years i'm sure.

To be fair it was hard to me to drop from the dizzying heights of 11.50 an hour to a mesely 10.00.

I don't know how far down the line we are with this. Juventus was a mistake. Italian club football is rubbish. If I were him I'd be looking to end my career fighting for trophies in a meaningful competition. Messi took the easy way out. If Ronaldo comes here it shows he's still serious about his football.
