I don't think Mendes would get this far then let his client change his mind and disrupt any future potential business, we knew today would be a bumpy ride

You mean the 36 year old who’s still quicker than the bloke we wanted to pay over 100m for? One of the greatest goal scorers of all time who scored 30 odd last season and was joint top scorer in the Euros about 6 weeks ago despite playing less games than most? When we’re absolutely desperate for a striker for this season.

Yeah I think he could dramatically change our fortunes this season. Also could dramatically change the shites down the road should he go there instead. Oh and we wanted Messi last year who’s also getting on and past his best.

Mendes is not our guy, he’s Mendes’ guy. He will get his player to whichever team will pay the requisite amount of cash for both his player and himself. History suggests that, when push comes to shove, the rags will pay much more to secure these deals than we will. He’d be derelict in his job if he didn’t take a call from the rags, especially given their obvious desperation, as they’ve exhibited countless times to beat City to an alleged target.

The only loyalty in football is from the people who support the team(s). Nothing more and nothing less.
