Yes sirI did mention to you the circumstances I would engage in calm chats. Until you attain that, go bang your pots and pans like a good chap Ruprecht.
good boy.Yes sir
The opinion of the SNP across a lot of English people is that Sturgeon, the SNP and her followers hate us English.
Salmond definitely was odious as you say but the SNP are only tolerated by people well on the left that see them as the enemy of their enemy and therefore friend.
It’s why I think the union is doomed and it may actually stop the division between England and Scotland.
The Scottish definitely dislike us more than us and them though. I’ve got a big group of Scottish mates I’ve known 30 years who I play golf with, they get on with me but hate England with a passion.
The last few years have proved that the opinions across a lot of English people can be easily influenced.
Of course the Scots don't like us, but there is nothing sinister in it. It's nothing more than the rivalries of North v South, Lancashire v Yorkshire, Manchester v Liverpool.
I respect Sturgeon, I find her to be a good orator and a savvy politician that Johnson actively avoids engaging with.

The Scots unequivocally don't hate the English. There are some aspects of English culture and politics that many have a problem with and there are a small number of bigoted individuals that might take that further but to say the Scots hate the English is simplistic in the extreme.. Anyway, back to Scottish politics. Now that vaccine passports have been scrapped in England, I cannot see them surviving here. I think in general I am in favour of them if they encourage some of the youngsters to get the vaccine and we get to the point that we aren't a petri dish for new variants. I suspect Boris has bulleted the concept because of media rather than scientific reasons.Agreed. I see it as more rivalry than hate. I think it‘s more dislike of England as an entity than the English themselves. It’s a bit like us with the Aussies.

I had a really interesting chat with a guy I shared a boat with on Saturday (you shouldn't really mix fishing and politics). He was adamant he didn't want independence but when quizzed around the status quo he didn't want that either. Undoubtedly Sturgeon will have to do an amazing job at presenting the independence 'plan' to gain votes from the remaining sceptics or it may be a case of better the devil you know. I hope not as I believe we could do better than the present.
You don't win the elections she has, by the margins she has, or the seats in Westminster she has either by just being a good orator or by being a single issue politician. She’s a good orator but that’s about where the respect should stop.
Maybe the English public just think differently to you, as a majority, rather than them being easily influenced?
I also think the dislike of the English goes a lot further than those examples you’ve mentioned.

Is there dislike of the English in Scotlan, probably, but I haven't come across it in 21 years here, nor have I found it in Sturgeons SNP.
Look at some of the people who have been and are UK Prime Minister. You don't win the elections she has, by the margins she has, or the seats in Westminster she has either by just being a good orator or by being a single issue politician.

Well, I can't find it.Regarding the anti Englishness, it’s hardly Protestant vs Catholic in NI but it’s a lot greater than north vs south banter in England.
I’ve spent a lot of time in Scotland and generally people are great, but there is a certain tone that’s unpleasant at times. I think it’s far more prevalent than discrimination in England to “others”.
I’m glad you haven’t but it definitely does exist.Well, I can't find it.
I thought Javid kiboshed it yesterday?Honestly, I wouldn’t bet on this...
“No 10 said checks on the vaccine status of people going to nightclubs and other crowded events remained a crucial part of the government’s winter Covid plan due to be unveiled by the prime minister tomorrow.”

Outside of sports rivalry where the general view of most people in Scotland is ABE, I’ve seen very little of it in other areas, and I’ve spent a lot of time up there with work over the years. There’s much more anti scouse rhetoric in Manchester than anything you see in Scotland about the English unless England are playing any sport.Well, I can't find it.
You ever seen similar to this being held up outside of sport between Liverpool and Manchester?Outside of sports rivalry where the general view of most people in Scotland is ABE, I’ve seen very little of it in other areas, and I’ve spent a lot of time up there with work over the years.
