Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Not sure weather the idea has been mooted before but I think the club need to work with the fans about the empty seats issue we have for cup matches.

Something along the lines of bumping season ticket prices up slightly and including all cup matches in it, say an extra £15 for each cup match we anticipate by going off the previous season. So if we played an extra 8 matches at home last season then the £ of season tickets goes up £120. Some will argue that it’s expensive as it is but it guarantees more money for the club and also gives fans access to more games.

I’m not particularly arsed about what other fans say, it’s the most unimportant thing in football at the moment and it’s litterley the only dig rivals can have but surely the club want to see bums on seats in all games.

It might even give fans like me a kick up the arse to get to more games too. I’ve got stuck in a rut of going to the home matches and going to Wembley if we make it for domestic games. I want to get to more matches but other commitments make it difficult, but if the ticket is already paid for then I will go more
So your idea is to force fans to pay more money? And force fans to go to games they don’t want to attend. Despite the fact lots of people struggle to pay for tickets as it is or have been priced out. Cup games in particular are for fans who can’t afford it regularly.

sorry mate that’s a terrible idea and will result in even more fans sacking off going to games. Working with the fans’ couldn’t think of a worse thing to do. Let’s price out basically anyone on an average wage or who was already struggling.

‘bumping season tickets up slightly’ - ‘£120’ is a bit more then slightly… that’s ridiculous.

‘but it guarantees more money for the club’ why on earth would the club need more money? They earn millions.

To be fair the season ticket holder would get circa 8 more matches, around 40% more games for the increase. We are trying to fill the stadium, we all know there is a slight problem (although not as big as some rivals suggest) and whatever happens it will hit blues in the pockets. The figure could be £5 a match, £40 more overall, £4 more a month over DD, for 40% more matches. But then you will have the problem Scottyboi alluded to if you make it too cheap too many will sack it off.

We, rightly lambasted the rags for forcing their 'fans' to take up and pay for cup games.

I do not want to see us become such a club.

Champions league crowd was brilliant
Crowd last night brilliant.
We are a Manchester based club.
Rags / Scouse shite have thousands of tourists turning up and 1000s of supporters clubs turning up from london, scotland, yorkshire, wales etc......100s of coaches. Red scouse shite are same.
Id rather have 31k of manchester based fans than 1000s from elsewhere.
were becoming as obsessed with our attendance now as those mocking us!

Yep I couldn't give a toss if I was watching with 20k fans, the only numbers I care about are the ones on the league table.

I was moved to the bottom tier at the back. I noticed that the tier overhanging is concrete. Not I’m not expert but doesn’t concrete have sound deadening qualities? Remember those old terraces with low tin roofs where the sound bounced and echoed around, like the Kippax?

Could the club put some kind of covering on there to reflect the sound and bounce it around so that songs started under there sound louder to the rest of the stadium? Now that would be a very cheap fix.

Jesus christ, clutching at straws , that same concrete was there in the Hamburg game where the sound didnt struggle to travel.

If you're interested in any of the cup tournaments then you can already sign up. If you want to buy a cup 'season ticket' you should be able to but forcing someone to will just get some to Jack it in, get a Cityzens card and cherry pick the big games because they have enough points to do the top 4 every season. This obsession with capacity and attendance is fucking ridiculous and we shouldn't be buying into it. First home game of the season attendance of 52276 against a 53400 official capacity (98%) Barca 20384 against a capacity of 99354 (21%) do the Spanish neutrals give a shit, no. Do Barca fans give a shit, no. So why are we so obsessed, because some social media keyboard warriors have to have a go at us for something. City should just offer the best product they can, if thats not good enough for them then I'd rather have an empty seat anyway.

Thanks guys, I thought that was it and the fact that they beep and no one does anything is a little 'concerning'. I just wondered if there was something special they were primed for but obviously not. Like you I have my keys in my pocket, however it has never beeped once!
Also the little cross body bag I carry my epipen in has always been allowed through no searches or anything but the previous two games they've made me go to the bag queue which has meant me queuing twice! Last night they didn't! (I know I should have gone to the bag queue but I thought I would just test it out again!) Curiouser and curioser as Alice would say!! :-)
We all know the security checks are a total farce I would suggest that the operators have not passed any level of security check themselves

Simples.

Level 1 and level 2 tiers are too shallow and small. We've lost another 3 rows of seats in level 1 because of the new advertising boards. The concrete level 2 overhangs that go out as far as row X on level 1 beneath, muffle any chanting/noise.

City play in an athletics stadium, which has been expanded.

Don't disagree but why not just drop the prices to say £10 for 2 people
It gets the casual fan & families that can't afford league games the chance to go

I know, but the problem is not the big games, it’s the run of the mill games. For the thousandth time, the rest of the ground are more inclined to join in if both singing sections sing the same song. At the moment they don’t because they can’t hear each other. That’s what I’m referring too.

2 rows not 3, and those rows weren't always there. The COMS that was built for the commonwealth games has very little resemblance to the Etihad in its current state, it was built specifically so they could easily remodel it into a football stadium afterwards. Go to west ham away if you want to see an actual athletics stadium.
