He’d struggle making cups of tea with the WRVS never mind training as a medic. When the dust settles on the disastrous post-Brexit era and enough people wake up to the fact they have been conned by Johnson and all his hangers-on I hope we finally see a real movement for genuine change within our political system.
I would start by overhauling the House of Commons, making it less adversarial. Can someone explain why we still have the weekly charade of Prime Minister's Question time - what is the point of it, what does it achieve? Why are people allowed to scream, shout and abuse each other with impunity. In what other walk of life would that be tolerated? In what other parliament do the two main parties sit opposite each other like they are about to do battle? This is the impression the public are given of our politics at work and it is utterly dysfunctional It's emblematic of our broken system, an excuse for them all to indulge themselves at our expense.
I've often wondered why do we not expect higher standards from those who govern us? If politicians are found to be dishonest in their professional lives or with any statements they make they should be disqualified from standing for public office. There should be a tribunal to decide such things which is independent from parliament. That would hopefully prevent egomaniacs like Johnson from being given the opportunity to ruin the country for their own selfish ends in the future. He wouldn't be allowed to be a solicitor or doctor because of his conduct so why is he allowed to be Prime Minister? Why he is allowed to continue lying to us on an almost daily basis, unchecked?
The argument for the FPTP electoral system was that it created strong Governments. However, it has also created the current situation whereby a party who has obtained only a marginally higher % of the vote has been allowed to run amok with very few checks and balances in place to prevent it doing so. That was what resulted in the referendum occurring in the first place in spite of their being very little public appetite for one.
We need a consensual and grown up system of Government, the current one is not fit for purpose. There is far too much power vested in a small group of people and they have abused it for too long. I hope I live long enough to see genuine change because I feel despondent about it all at the moment.

I don't thinl the franchise owners will be making as many profits, not while the only people travelling are those who don't mind sitting with people not wearing masks in a confined space.Promoting the best of British.
Sadly the railway industry is only best at asset stripping and creaming any profits off to pay for new trains in whichever country the franchise owners run.
I expected this to be my new company logo if I'm honest.
