The point of it is to give someone coming through a taste of the match day setup with the first team. Give them the experience for the professionalism, feeling, and atmosphere, something to keep working hard for - and what better game than a packed derby

Yeah they could treat a kid like competition winner or they can have an important member of the squad off the pitch in the dressing room with them, somebody who the starting 11 will all appreciate having with them in there and make the kid earn that experience

Absolutely pointless giving it to our third keeper on his last legs

The flip side of that is does anyone really need the added distraction of checking up on a kid to make sure they're doing OK today? Better to stick with the guys who've done it a hundred times before.

Take our chances and not leave gaps for them to counter and we should be okay. Plenty here can call the rags shit and do but they have plenty of quality to hurt us......then there's Oliver. Our recent record vs them hasn't been great recently, but all their wins in the last 2 seasons came when we started with a striker up front: both league losses in 19/20 and the loss in the 2nd leg of the league cup semi, the loss in 20/21 as well. For some reason, playing with a false 9 helped us in the derbies, hopefully this system will help us today as well.

They might have some good players paul but they don't have humility - they play for the rags for 2 reasons :- 1) money 2) arrogance .
