Gascoigne was a poorly behaved, uncontrollable, alcoholic, playboy. Phil is hard-working young man who is obsessed with football, with much more understanding and help with mental health issues (which may have helped Gazza a lot).

Foden could have half the talent and he'd still have twice the career of Gazza.

Gazza career honours (20 year career):
FA Cup (1): 1991
Scottish Premier Division (2): 1996, 1997
Scottish Cup: 1996
Scottish League Cup: 1997
Total: 5 honours

Foden career honours (4.5 year career):
Premier League (3): 2018, 2019, 2021
FA Cup: 2019
EFL Cup (4): 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021
Community Shield (2): 2018, 2019
Total: 10 honours
and phil has won the world cup

Really what about the young talent coming up . Fati, Pedri etc.

Gascoigne failed to win a Ballon Dor . What makes you so certain Phil will.
Seems you’re intent on trying to sound knowledgeable without any substance..... Gazza was finished at 24 following that diabolical tackle on Charles, he and still is, a half head...

Foden represents everything Gazza could of been under the right manager, as if Ferguson had stumped up a house for his parents, the way spuds did, then we would be talking about Gazza as one of the greats!

@Radiohead1981 you joined the forum under false pretences by putting Man City as the team you support. You've then spent the majority of your time telling us that Foden and Grealish aren't all that and droning on about Maradona saying Gascoigne was a good player.
You are a waste of bandwidth and should be fucked off until you have the bollocks to apologise for lying and then tell us who you really support. After that you can carry on posting shite but at least it'll be shite from an opposition supporter that will give your shite context.

As I said Gascoigne didn't win it . And anyone who isn't a City fan would consider Gascoigne to be a more
talented player than Phil.
The same people put Ali on a pedestal as the greatest boxer of all time, when in reality the personality elevates the man...

Fucking Gazza, if you’re a blue I’ll show my arse as any blue with a small knowledge base around the club would use Lakey as a comparable, who incidentally would of been England captain and one of its finest players, but for injury!

It's like comparing oranges and pears to be honest.
Gascoigne was an immensely gifted player. You had to see him in his pomp to truly appreciate the talent he had. A complete natural.
Foden is as good, but has the benefits of a structure behind him and, seemingly, a completely different mentality and mindset. He is lucky to have that.
Let's not kid ourselves though that if Gascoigne had had the same foundations in place he wouldn't have been the best player in the World. He was really that good. Such a shame.

I agree that Gascoigne was on a completely different level to Foden in terms of natural ability; Grealish is the only English player remotely similar since, and he’s still miles away. Foden is a lot more comparable to Giggs, both in the way he plays and the fact that he’ll have a much longer, more decorated career at the top level.

In this clip Gazza was a crocked and overweight but still dominates a Dortmund team that went on to win the Champions League the next season.

Gazza was one of those once in a million type of players.
Foden is fantastic too, but let's give credit where credit is due...Gazza was phenomenal.

Great clip by the way, cheers;-)

That goal he's scored in England training today is spectacular. Yes I know it's training and you see centre backs scoring 50 yarders in training every week but the sheer technique is insane.
