Fake news.

"Sterling will not come to Barcelona for various reasons.
Among others, Tebas and the LFP (Spanish FA) do not accept it."

if he doesnt renew and city have to sell who is let besides psg

I find that believable. Not because the source might be, could well be total speculation on their part. Just because it sounds like it would make sense.
It wouldn't, even if we sanction it, Barcelona don't have €10m to offer so there's no guarantees how it will look in the summer. Moreover, loaning, be it for months, makes us look weak and a laughing stock. A player of Sterling's reputation elsewhere would get sold for a lot of money, won't be any talk of this loan nonsense.

This is exactly why he will renew imo, there's nowhere he can really go who's on the same level as us when it comes to competing. Only options are Cheslea or Liverpool, and we know neither of those are happening. Anywhere else is simply an ongoing rebuild or an ambitious project, he'd be wise to work hard and find form, even a player like Bernardo with his reputation and form carried from last season could not get a move, same with Cancelo or Laporte or any of the names linked away. It's not easy to move from City unless you're entirely washed and moving on because you don't belong. Sterling can still be a great asset for us, that's how I look at it.

End of day, La Liga move is a big if scenario, and I doubt Liverpool would take him back, or if there's anyone else who wants him. That's all. The easiest link is always PSG so you know it's not on. Far possibility but if Arsenal pull off a blinder and manage to secure European football, then I can see him rejoining Arteta because that's the man who helped him find peak form.

And the not too insignificant fact that Jack is miles better.
Yeah, you'd think that was obvious at this moment in time but whilst posters try and use stats to try and convince others that Jack hasn't been a success, just watching him play is more than enough to convince me. Not a resounding one so far, granted, but then if you're willing to look a bit further than the nose on your face it's easy to see why we bought him.
He offers far more control, rarely loses possession in the areas that Sterling does, thus negating the counter attack we often find ourselves defending when Sterling has run into another blind alley.
The rest will come once he's settled in but there's a section of our fanbase who will always judge him on a ridiculous price tag and nothing else.

Maybe he will mate. Started well enough but very unconvincing the last few displays.
That's close to my take. Thought he had a very good first month or so but not quite up to those same standards the last 3 games.
I've seen enough though to believe he offers us much more at the moment in our overall gameplan than Sterling does.

Neither are starters just now and that right as I believe Gabby and Phil deserve the place. I am encouraged by Raheem starts for England and do think his form will return.

I’m desperate for Sterling to return to firm but I can’t get over excited by his England performances against mainly cannon fodder.
Agree that Gabby and Phil should start right now but that still leaves the false 9 so I’d be tempted to play Grealish and move Jesus into the middle of the 3.
That said it’s horses for courses depending on opposition.
I like the fact we have several options and variations in the front 6.

Keep on hearing about Barca wanting Sterling , what are they going to do start a "Go fund me" page , they havent got a pot to piss in , letting him go on loan in January is a waste of time if Barca can't afford the fee or his wages.
If we do get an offer of around £50m then i will pay his for his plane ticket , if we can get that fee and save £300k a week wages we could then sign a player who can knock the goals in.
Sterling has been a good signing , but he's done and needs a move to kick start his career , he has stagnated over the last 18 months , and if a coach like Pep cannot invigerate your career , then its time to find pastures new
Good luck Raheem its been a blast.

Give Barcelona nothing and watch them die a death, vile club akin to the English red tops.

Absolutely they have run rough shod over clubs awarding players stupid contracts to sign the best in the world , now they have a 39 year old Alves returning on a wage of ONE EURO a week , throughly enjoying their fall from grace . just a shame Sergio signed for them , he deserves better.

I'd rather concentrate on the here and now rather than the past. Grealish is a much better fit for this version of City.

Is Grealish a better fit? He's more of the same. He can't do anything Phil, Bernardo, Gundogan, KDB or Mahrez can't do.

What this team is missing is an in-form Sterling, someone who can get on the end of all the attacks our possession makes and score the goals.

We're not as good an attacking side as were were 2 or 3 years ago and IMO the main reason for that is Pep replacing goalscorers like Sané and Sterling with creative players shoved out wide in Mahrez and Grealish. We keep buying players who don't score goals regularly and then act confused when the team full of them doesn't score regularly.

I'm pretty sure we'll still not be as good when we eventually get Haaland or Kane, because we'll be in the situation of getting 80% of our goals from one player and all it will take is a good defensive coach or the striker to have a bad day and we'll be back talking about not taking chances again.

So I don't think Grealish is a better fit for this side unless you think the idea of a football side is to have 4 or 5 players with all the same strengths and weaknesses. Forget Sterling for a moment, I think any goalscoring winger would have been a better signing.

But presumably they thought Bernardo was going, and that's why they bought another attacking midfielder who can play wide but is better in the middle.
