FWIW, I don't think he looks like a Pep striker. However, no manager is like Pep and I feel he can adjust his playing style to suit what he has available. If that means altering the style to suit this generations outstanding goalscorer and improve the team then I am sure Pep is the man to do it.
Get him signed up for me.

It is more likely to be a strategy signing as they all are now unless Pep signs another extension. Players are bought for the style of play rather than being a big name, unlike other clubs.

I would expect the next manager has already agreed to takeover if Pep is leaving at the end of next season.

I'm pretty sure nobody has agreed to take over yet, we aren't even sure there is a vacancy. No manager will put thir career on hold on the chance of a job. We will have a handful in mind , but that's all. If Pep make clear he is going it will be about this time next year we start approaching replacements.

Again, why would Pep leave? It's the media who keep peddling this line. They never say Klopp's leaving. Why? It's what they want to happen and thus keep it at the forefront of everyone's mind. Pep is now the 6th longest serving manager in the league. Not bad for someone who was only staying for a couple of seasons
Spot on mate. They only ask this kind of question to Pep, and no other manager seems to get this treatment. It's the media's way of saying "City are fucked when Pep goes". They're shit scared he signs another extension.

He’s the third longest standing isn’t he? Only Dyche and Klopp have been in post longer.

That said, eight of the twenty have changed Managers since last season already, so we are living through a particularly reactive season so far!

You'll never win anything when he leaves...

2 managers before him and still 5 trophies in the bag..

That's a big U turn from your previous certainty that this was done for January.

It seems an anomaly to me that for a club which strives to keep transfer targets as far as possible in house that so many forum members have Inside information.
Paid journalists scrutinizing the club don't seem to unearth as much news.
Journalists do however get plenty of crap for their guesses.

To expand on above, putting 'done and dusted' in quotations because I mean Truly done and dusted, as in fully agreed and everyone sits on them for a year which seems to be the assumption. It also isn't aimed at any one poster's claim, more the general concept.

I know there is interest and discussions that happen ahead, and maybe outline figures and broad indication of agreement. That happens regularly. But to call it really all done? I struggle with that. Particularly when we see most often how long into a window they go on, sometimes collapse and or change, even after supposedly having been done and dusted even as late as that morning.

Some clubs do sometimes agree deals beforehand, but they announce them straight away, sealing it and avoiding any change. Seen so many expected deals turn out completely different that I really don't think deals are ever truly fenced off a season before.
Done & dusted is nonsense mate unless you’re within 6 months of your contract expiring, when players can sign a pre contract

In a players contract it will state as standard something along the lines of ‘you can’t be contracted concurrently to any other club or play football/any other sport for any other team’ or legal wording to that effect

Players could agree to something 12 months in advance, but without signing the contract, a player isn’t contractually obliged, so it’s impossible to be ‘done & dusted’

Anyone stating Haaland is done & dusted is unfortunately chatting shite in my opinion. He might have agreed to join, but that’s it. I’d suggest that is contractually impossible for it to be done & dusted

Alves was 'done and dusted' right up until the point where he signed for PSG....

He sneered when I said we’d agreed terms with Grealish and that he had a buy out about 3 weeks before the euros.

I miss being in the loop.

Yeah. Fuck knows why a these so called ITKs stick their neck on the line, they probably enjoy the backslapping when they call it right.

I see Billyshears has gone quiet since he said Kane was nailed on. I recall him sneering anyone thinking we'd get Haaland.
He was certain we were getting Haaland mate, even after I posted info from the Dortmund end (from a very good source) saying we were 100% not and he and I had a bit of a back and forth about it.

His narrative on Haaland changed as the window went on and he hitched his horse to the Kane wagon.

Nothing against Billy. He's a good guy, but this whole ITK thing gets ridiculous at times.

Regarding the Grealish clause, it was mad that people dismissed the info from @SWP's back . As if he, of all posters, needed a 'Hey, look at me everyone' post ;-)

I think we have already figured out that City were given indications from Kane’s “camp” that were misleading. And in the end, Kane was the one who pulled the plug supposedly

You could also speculate that the cost of getting the Kane deal over the line - was more than City had anticipated and as such bought the Haaland deal back into play.
