I thought they showed the goals of all top division games at half time in the live match on Sunday afternoon, mate…?

I’m not sure that happened either. Sky had Goals on Sunday.

MOTD was the only was for the vast majority of people to see the highlights on a Saturday.

It is a long time ago though. I’ve nearly totally erased that lot ever winning anything.

I was watching Sly Sports “News” the other day and they were listing the credentials of the chap the rages are looking at and they actually said in glowing terms

“He was once linked with West Brom as manager”

What puzzles me is why are so many of our players linked with them ? City are clearly a better Club on all fronts, from the team to the way the club is run. I really dont see the attraction of barca.

Not every game had TV cameras, MOTD used to show one or two games, no other highlights on Saturday night. On ITV on a Sunday we had extensive highlights from a game in the Granada region then shorter highlights from another match from another TV area. Gerald Sinstadt was our local presenter and Brian Moore was the National Anchor based in London.

After a week in which we come from behind to beat one of the giants of European football in a pulsating game with stellar performances from Rodri and Bernardo and Cancelo all of whom were also excellent against Everton he picks dipper Thiago as his man of the week for scoring in a dead rubber routine home win against Porto.
