IMHO a pre-requisite to being the "biggest football club in the world" is to at least be able to win the domestic league on a reasonably regular basis. That hasn't happened to that lot for quite some time. Keep selling shirts in Singapore & Beijing etc and City will keep picking up the trophies.
I don't give a shit if we're not the biggest in the world. Who cares anyway ?

They could try even reaching the last four of the Champions League.

Something the world's biggest club hasn't done for a decade. Admittedly, that's usually because they drop into the Europa League or don't even qualify through league position.

The world's biggest football club *TM that went 26 years without winning the domestic title?

Doesn't sound quite as impressive, winning 14 league titles in 54 fucking years does it? So 0.259259259259 every decade.

Even lickle old City have six in 53 years.

World's biggest club, my arse!

In fairness they did not define which area they classify themselves as biggest.

Perhaps football achievement is well down their list of "big"

I'm sure we all can think of what "big" describes them best.

They have been defining themselves as the biggest club in the world *TM for as long as I have been alive.

Growing up throughout the 80s, they still considered a lucky FA Cup final replay win over Brighton and an extra time winner over Everton, as some sort of confirmation.

Perhaps their area of "big" is now their wage bill?

Well it’s not like the muen to have a sly dig us it?!
To be fair Stuart Brennan is simply reporting what others are dubbing it and actually puts his sly dig in at them ...

"Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain both tend to get lumped together as a modern football phenomenon - and tomorrow night’s clash has been predictably dubbed the Oil Firm derby."

He goes on to write positively about the City team later on, mentions huge investment yes, but built on good socialist ideals that should resonate with the Mancunian support.

I don't take offence at the Oil Firm jibe myself.

Me neither.

Wouldn't mind, Qatar's wealth comes from Gas!

The only thing I take offence to is hearing/seeing people say Oil Firm, Abu Derby, El Gasico, El Cashico etc as if it's an original joke.

I'm yet to hear one that wasn't around 5 years ago when we played them under Pellegrini.
