if the 1 person who doesn't wear it is the one infected and they emit it near you, you're still going to catch it especially if it's this infectious.

Either you go totalitarian or it's pointless. And with totalitarian you're in more danger from the pissed off folk willing to harm you for their freedom than you are from the virus.

Your logic is nonsensical.

It's not all or nothing, quite the opposite, it's every marginal reduction in risk helps.

As for the emboldened bit, get a grip. We're talking about wearing a mask in a shop, not imposing martial law.

A bit more regard for the freedom for the lives of the vulnerable wouldn't go amiss.

Maybe this is a test of compliance. If masks are adhered to, then they know the sheep will be okay with another lockdown. One more step to a cashless society. Totalitarianism is here.

Just 2 weeks to flatten the curve.

“Experts” told you if you complied with lockdowns, censorship, masks and vaccinations—life would return to normal.
“Conspiracy theorists” told you Covid was never going to end, and governments would use it to usher in a totalitarian new world order.

Who do you believe now?

The point is that if you are infected, it reduces the chance of you infecting others.

Being triple jabbed does not reduce your risk of infection to zero.

Wearing a mask reduces the likelihood of you infecting and killing someone vulnerable.

How difficult is it to wear a mask in a shop?
Might help although it very much depends on how you’re going to wear it.

If your mask gets dirty, wet or damaged, or if you touch the inside of it, then you should change to a new one.
When you take it off to eat or drink, you should dispose of the old mask, wash or sanitise your hands, and replace it with a new one once you have finished eating and/or drinking.

You’re also going to need to keep you’re mask supply sterile until it’s time to change it again and it’s got to cover your mouth AND nose.

I reckon even the most avid mask wearers fail in most of the above, which just goes to show it’s much more about psychology than infection control.

Neither of your two examples.

Not you.

I thought it was more a case of the mask protecting others if the masks over your mouth and nose you ain't breathing covid particle's over all and sundry.

they've had extra years of life they wouldn't have had had nature been allowed to take its course, meanwhile young people have committed suicide and many have died from untreated diseases like cancer who could have been saved, so the vulnerable owe the rest of society every single breath they take.

Although, if you happen to be in South Africa today and you and your partner are looking to come back next week, you will be detained, without trial, at a minimum cost of £3700. If this shower were serious about public health, all these things that are ‘required’ would be funded and simple to sort out, especially for people who’ve had the rules changed overnight, through no fault of their own.

most pertinent quote you'll get. How many millions died for you to have the right to say that?

How many of those millions would have given the time of day to someone so self absorbed they regard wearing a mask in a shop to protect others as a massive infringement of their freedoms?

You don't have the freedom to spread disease in the same way you don't have the freedom to be dangerous at work or drive pissed up. You can have all the freedom you want if you're only fucking yourself up rather than others.
you do have the freedom, hence why it's spreading everywhere, duh. There's not one causal, cast-iron prevention than isolating everyone from each other, in which case you're condemning many more to die than will die of Covid, which is your moral and political compass not mine.

Anyway, it's compulsory now so they go back on out of courtesy to the law.

Well, there I do have some sympathy.
