That £2.5m can't be sniffed at either, I imagine the clubs hierarchy have said we could do with it, that'll be £12.5m for all the groups wins. That's a deposit on a world class centre forward.

Gutted for McAtee, I don't think Foden and Gundogan need the minutes.

Disagree about Foden, we need to get him back up to full match fitness asap. I would also like to McAtee given an opportunity as he looks like a real talent but I have no doubt his chance will come. Our management team have shown with the way they managed Phil they know what we’re doing.

Whilst I think walker (and probably gundogan) could have been rested maybe Pep wants a more stable back 4 for the benefit of the others. the players that need minutes don't want to be covering for a vastly inexperienced kid that isn't at the required level yet, they need to be playing in a side that plays the same as usual so that they can get themselves upto speed for when they do come into the side in a game with something actually riding on it.

The kids will get a chance second half. Wouldn't be surprised to see egan Riley on at half time for walker, Palmer on shortly after for gundogan, mcatee on for kdb after an hour and the other two to get the last 10 minutes.
