Fair pointThe Tories having an 80 seat majority disagrees with you.

Yes until the narrative changes to suit the latest government agenda.Ironically, keeping as socially distanced as possible, wearing masks in confined public spaces and being vaccinated reduces the strain on hospitals, allowing “the vulnerable or people with things like cancer” access to the hospitals to continue their treatment.
Utter nonsense.when you clearly have zero clue what a pandemic is after living through one for nearly 2 years it’s idiotic to the highest order.
you can’t just opt out of a pandemic just because you feel like it. We have been the European of not global epicentre of it since July!
Maybe, but we can ignore that and do what’s best for society, can’t we?Yes until the narrative changes to suit the latest government agenda.

Utter nonsense.
An epidemic (I am referring to the UK alone now) is where a significant number of people are ill at once.
0.01% of the population requiring hospital treatment is not a significant number.
Not strictly true, it isn’t true now.when you clearly have zero clue what a pandemic is after living through one for nearly 2 years it’s idiotic to the highest order.

It’s a minor point in your argument with the other chap but we’ve been generally bad compared to elsewhere but it’s ebbed and flowed as to us being near the top.Ok the last few weeks have shifted that goal post in Europe. but generally for the last 6 months its been correct.
I have repeatedly said I am referring to the UK
I wasn't waiting for the NHS to call me..I cancelled my original date and booked a new one for next week..Every passing day it looks like omicron is going to have a big impact.
Good news of the day:
1. The reported 40 fold drop in efficacy of vaccines is on antibody titre. Efficacy vs serious illness is likely to drop by far, far less. Don't pay to much attention to headlines.
2. You should be able to book boosters online now 61 days post 2nd jab. Do it now. Boosters will almost certainly help you vs serious illness, and probably somewhat against infection too.

We aren't in an epidemic in the UK. 0.01% of the population being ill isn't an epidemic. We have moved to the endemic phase of Covid and did so months ago.Being repeatedly wrong isn't something most people like to boast about, but by all means carry on.
We don't tick the country pandemic box with 50k cases because 98.5% of them are mild. Are we currently in a country pandemic of a cold? Do we have a country pandemic of flu every winter? And every time you do you reinforce the fact you don't know what a pandemic is.
Global Pandemic = A disease/virus that is prevalent around the world.
Country Pandemic = A disease/virus that is prevalent around the country.
Even if we had 0 cases in our country we are still in a global Pandemic. But right now its a disease/virus that is prevalent around our country too. 50k cases a day!.
So we tick both boxes, Just because you decide you think we're not in one doesn't make it so and suggesting it is idiotic.
What part of the definition of pandemic mentions severity? Ohh thats right. it doesnt. We don't tick the country pandemic box with 50k cases because 98.5% of them are mild. Are we currently in a country pandemic of a cold? Do we have a country pandemic of flu every winter?
