Wouldn't be hard these days to set them off with the same gaps too. Seems harsh if your say 10 seconds ahead of someone the race restarts with them right on your rear bumper.

That has always annoyed me about F1 and the safety car tbh

defo they will call for improper racing and the calls by the race director made without letting the other drivers unlap themselves and just letting the 5 cars through ? its in the rules and it was broken. also Mercedes could take legal action and take them to court ? lewis also could be done with the sport after today and call time

It was clear the Mercedes is the much faster car. The VSC pit stop was their missed opportunity; LH would have easily made up the distance, especially on fresher tyres.

Devil's advocate here. Say that Hamilton and Verstappen's seasons' wins were reversed, and that Hamilton would have won if they both had a DNF. Would he have taken Verstappen out on that final lap? Not wumming, it's a serious (if, at this stage, hypothetical) question.

It was restarted for a TV spectacle. There was no way it was just going to end with no racing.

F1 has over the years made the rules to suit at times and today was no different.

I do think the rules need to be looked at to stop the second placed driver having such and advantage under (V)SC conditions.

Imagine running a marathon and with a mile to go you're miles ahead so they pull you up until the others have caught up. As you have been faster you are now more fucked. That's it in a nutshell.

I would be pissed if I was the guy winning and not happy being the guy who was given it either. Ultimately no one wins from this

If I am in 4th place in front of MV and the guy in 5th is behind him then when I overtake the SC and join the back of the pack I am now behind the guy in 5th.
