They are doing the right thing by delaying these by a month or so. Getting immunity boosted for Omicron was vital without virulence data.
(Except Covid passports which are a total waste of time with Omicron being so infectious.)
The virulence data still isn't confirmed though it now looks fantastically good.
The only purpose of vaccine passports vis a vis Omicron is to make it a pain in the arse to not be triple jabbed. Which I tend to agree with.

‘ Sir John Bell urged people to look out for a sore throat, aching muscles particularly around the back, a stuffy nose, some stomach upset and loose stools as signs of having Omicron.
“One of the things we do know is the syndrome is rather different,” he said.

Sir Bell, a Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University, said myalgia, which is muscle pain, was a “distinguishing feature” of Omicron and that public health experts did not know why that was.
He said data from South Africa and the Zoe App showed that other unusual symptoms of Omicron include a “bit of gut upset, loose stools and that sort of thing”.

Not sure I’d bother with a LFT after a heavy night out that ends in a curry…
Sore muscle and runny arse!?

turns out I’ve had Omicron for about a decade now.

They won't because vaccines and previous infections give a lot-of protection against serious illness.
People with the equivalent of a bad cold for the most part aren't going to get tested.
I’ve got it and mine now feels like a head cold. In a normal year I’d have gone to city last night and would have been out Christmas shopping with this, it’s just a sniffle now.

I think the pass isn’t only about reducing transmission. It’s about inconveniencing those who won’t have the jab to encourage larger take up
It’s a failure of communication then.
Imagine if that becomes the norm? You can only go to the pub/football/cinema if you’ve got X or had Y? I just think it’s a very slippery slope towards authoritarianism and it makes me somewhat uncomfortable.

Looks like it's an update on boosters rather than an announcement on daft restrictions.
Plan C I reckon. The giveaway was the idiot Shapps said yesterday that there would be no further restrictions in December and he’s like a reverse Nostradamus!!

They might be daft rstrictions they might not, it probably won't be restrictions but as you seem to think all restrictions ar daft, you'e opinion on the restrictions is a bit pointless.

Won’t happen.
Lateral flow tests will always be accepted too for the unvaccinated.

More likely to allay fears about the availability of Tests and boosters. Some counties/regions are short, and if you look at the symptoms I quoted above, most of the country is going to want stockpiles of Tests over the coming weeks.

so you don’t think a shift in a virus so it makes more children sick is note worth.

gotcha.
I didn’t say that. Children have been admitted to hospital with flu and respiratory viruses, for ever.
RSV hospitalises many children every year, which you may or may not know about but, if you don’t, it’s because nobody tells you about every day.
I suppose we will find out at 5.
