Rishi p1ssed off at having to come back from his holiday at his home by the sea in California - sorry business trip.
BBC reporter at a london hospital interviewing a ward Sister who expressed her frustration that 9 of their 11 ICU patients had no vaccination. London has the lowest vaccination rates in the UK.Hospitalisations in London surge 26% in a week
More updates from the capital, where the latest data shows hospitalisations have risen 26% in the last seven days.
The government dashboard showed 1,460 patients with COVID were in hospital in the capital on 16 December, an increase of 297 people from 1,163 a week earlier.
And there were 199 hospital admissions with COVID in London on 14 December, up 34% from 148 a week earlier.
How was it, did you get sick after ? Had my third jab today. First 2 were AZ, this one PfizerBooster jab day for me, brought forward a month. Anticipating a sore arm and a headache as am switching from AZ to Pfizer or Moderna, but very thankful that I get to have it a good week before Christmas.
Although it's brought about the discussion in our family about whether we'd let our kids have it, 9 and 5, and although we're very pro vaccine I think we'd have to take a much closer look here. Rumours primary schools will be asked to facilitate roll out in the early year, and I'd really want to check if there is a need vs the risks. Are there any publicly available studies as yet?
Please let's not start this argument again ffs lolThe government needs to act now and deny these ignorant selfish people free access to the NHS. No vaccine then get your own health insurance. Otherwise you treat yourself at home.
The government should do all they possibly can to get people to get vaccinated. Though for those that have had none it's probably too late for the current variant and surge.BBC reporter at a london hospital interviewing a ward Sister who expressed her frustration that 9 of their 11 ICU patients had no vaccination. People in hospital always rises in winter. Every year before covid I remember reading the NHS was on the verge of being overrun. This is because all respiratory diseases are worse in the cold damp weather.

Incredibly, doubling times in nearly every region are below two days.
That means the number infected today are probably at least 4x higher, maybe 10x higher than the cases reported in the headline figure.
I expect we'll run up against testing capacity very shortly.
I'd never have believed this rate was sustainable to this number of infections.

1.5 day doubling time is ~30 fold in a week.
Mrs is on the phone chasing my sons pcr result poor bugger is missing his last week in school, must be well busy the labs.
well its just point blank wrong. Conpulsory vaccination is the route out of this mess. These incredibly selfish ignorant people are putting the health care system under strain its that simple. And it will be because of them that 100s of thousands of people will lose their businesses. The government should do all they possibly can to get people to get vaccinated. But they will never, and the doctors and nurses would never ask them to,refuse treatment free at point of need, so you can forget that.
It's hard to get your head round these figures. According to the Zoe research the estimate for Covid cases in the UK today is 1.17m people. The test figures are a small fraction of actual cases. So if cases keep doubling every two days 64 million people will have been exposed to it within two weeks ie the whole country. The only positive here is that this could provide a lot of natural immunity for the population in a very short space of time.If this thing spreads as much as we think it does (and I think we all accept it does) then under our current methodology for recording covid hospitalisations then it’s inevitable there will be a proportional increase in hospitalisations. Even if the virus was harmless, if 100% of people have it then EVERY hospitalisation will be recorded as covid.
I don’t have an answer as to how to see through the fog…perhaps people actually ‘in’ hospital is a more useful metric?
The same applies for deaths and so the more widespread the virus is the less useful our stats become unless they truly differentiate between ‘from’ and ‘with’ covid.
So what we saying Paul it's just a coincidence covid cases and hospitalizations are rising?
It makes perfect sense. No argument from me, just a simple solution to an obvious problem of how to deal with idiots. Please let's not start this argument again ffs lol
Compulsory vaccination is a different argument though, and I wouldn't be against it if it happened. Asking doctors and medical staff not to treat people though is something that won't happen and I would be against.well its just point blank wrong.
