Phil and Jack on the lash?

Has it been said they turned up to training and unable to train? or just not to the level Pep expects?
Is this not the same thing?

If your boss is pissed off with the state you are in, then you have turned up for work in too bad a state.

It isn't rocket science at the end of the day.

Of course, they would have been able to train, millions of men get pissed on a Saturday night and rock up for a 10 am kick-off on a Sunday morning but their manager isn't Pep or 99% of modern managers.

way people are reacting to this is if they have.

I could have 10 pints and go and train tomorrow but would I be able to train better by not having 10 pints the night before?

The facts of the matter are they pissed off their boss, a boss they know demands the best from his players at all times.

Also, this is a club forum where people talk about news about the club and its players, how do you expect some people to react?

Not everybody is like Marcus who thinks he is Howard Kendal reincarnated and likes to call people bed wetters for thinking pro players not acting like pro players isn't a great look during a pandemic and at the time when footballers are dropping like flies and games are being canceled.

But hey, everybody is entitled to their opinion at the end of the day.

Jesus same knicker wetters re-emerging that were fuuuuuuuming when foden brought a girl back to his room in iceland

young lads have a pint shocker

some of you need to get a life
So Pep's a "knicker wetter", is he? He was clearly unhappy at the state they turned up in for training next morning.

They can go out on the piss if they want but they'll have to accept that won't be tolerated for long at the elite clubs, if they're not careful they'll end up at the rags.

I meant on here. Pep dealt with it.

It was knicker wetters, not bed wetters. Monumental difference ;)

I don't think anybody is fuming or wetting knickers because they've had a pint. Such a piss poor response. What they're unhappy with is they've very clearly upset Pep and not acted how he's asked them all. It doesn't matter one bit what they've done or haven't done it's the fact they've done something Pep isn't happy with, that's the issue here.

Chaps chill out it can’t have pissed Pep off that much they where on the bench if it really was as bad as some are making out there’s is not a chance they would have been even in a the squad saying that we played Mendy when all sorts where going on with him

if they turned up plastered I can say yes it was unacceptable, but end of the day they are allowed some time to themselves away from the football.

Its not like theyve gone out and done anything worse than a bevvy
You are missing the point mate and sounds like you didn’t read my earlier reply properly .. Footballers have more spare time than they can shake a stick at, outside of that they need to stay on point, no nightclubs no beers and no covid hotspots.. I get what you are saying but it’s not acceptable end of, as far as I’m concerned .. They can get trashed as much as they want when the seasons done ..

For all you In The Knows. Could you please enlighten me as to what were the rules the two were working to. Did Pep ban any social events totally? Did Pep say OK ,guys go and have a beer but keep it sensible? Did Pep not say anything at all and trust to the judgement of his players? Maybe something else. Anybody know?
Pep said go out and enjoy yourselves but don’t turn up at the training day tomorrow hung over.

Makes me laugh how much we defend sometimes the indefensible. This isn’t going out for a drink. Normal times probably a slap on the wrist for turning up worse for wear the next day. For me it’s the going out when games are being cancelled and players dropping like flies with covid. It’s during this time that yes they have to behave, even more so than the general public to keep themselves and their teammates and staff safe. We have had far too much negative media brought on by ourselves in regards to covid so you’d think the club would be extra strict.

Yeah to me it’s just absolute ignorance. Both from a professional & societal point of view. Everyone is uproar about Downing Street having their parties during Covid times & like it or not footballers in these days are now role models in our society. To be honest whilst Jack & Phil are fantastic footballers on the pitch they seem like two peas in a pod off it & don’t seem to be the sharpest tools in the box.

Plus, no matter how young they may seem they certainly aren’t ‘kids’ anymore & Pep quite rightly has addressed this. Enjoy your time off for parties & socialising during your hols but if you want to be at the top of your game & win trophies you need to be accountable for your own actions during a season or ‘work time’. If you don’t fancy it then go to other clubs who aren’t as professional & try and win silverware there!

Don’t necessarily see the club at fault it trying to mollycoddle the players in basically acting responsibly. Should just be common sense which is obviously lacking with these two who both have previous similar actions. For instance, don’t see Ruben, Rodders or Fernie showing a bad sense off judgement off the field & they were all young once!
