Waits for ‘youknowwho’ to comment…Not just statisticians who think Fergusson talks out of backside then. Epidemiologists too. Who'd have thought that was possible...

Think we missed a trick in not having a national celebration in April last year to replace the wrecked Xmas. Would have raised spirits.
I think we should pay a big lump sum to all u30s to thank them for their sacrifices to save the old gits during this. They've been absolutely shafted, whereas the older part of society, illness apart, have had it much easier.
And have a fuck off massive national party in May.
Test again tomorrow and if it’s clear then yes would be my advicei was positive 8 days ago... now testing negative and have no symptoms
do i see my family xmas day?
Honestly, while we know you can catch it anywhere I wouldn’t be surprised if loads caught it at the Leeds home game last week. I tested positive on a LFT on Monday morning, another mate tested positive at the weekend, and yet another phoned me this morning to say he too tested positive on a LFT on Monday morning. It was a faint line but he went for a PCR that same day (as his work have made it compulsory to do so), been isolating since, and confirmed positive this morning. All of us were at the match last weekyep loads of my mates have it.
I am a few days behind you so still self isolating.
thank fuck for the darts ,!

I agree. I actually suggested that in here before last Christmas as a way to try to stop over mixing. Promise a 'thanksgiving' holiday when it was safe to do so and say it was to thank people for protecting the NHS by being sensible over Christmas.Think we missed a trick in not having a national celebration in April last year to replace the wrecked Xmas. The pandemic has affected everyone. None of us, I hope, can imagine how deeply sad it must be for a person in their 80s or 90s to be locked away and almost starved of family contact.Saw that suggested elsewhere. Feel that's harsh on the 30-64 year olds tbh! Missed out on just as much and also likely to be absolutely fine. (Get the tongue and cheek aspect of your post btw =))
I think the 10 days are when you are totally clear, days 7-10 if negative you can go out but should still try to keep your distance.
Makes sense for businesses too.I agree. I actually suggested that in here before last Christmas as a way to try to stop over mixing. Promise a 'thanksgiving' holiday when it was safe to do so and say it was to thank people for protecting the NHS by being sensible over Christmas.
A carrot not a stick usually works best. But no surprise it was never proposed by politicians.
That’s not the advice. If you are negative for 2 days on day 7, then isolation is up.
People hospitalised with Covid who are unvaccinated at my daughter's hospital = 73%.
Similar numbers across the rest of West Midlands hospitals apparantly.
Shakes head.
Natural Selection at work
Yes absolutely.i was positive 8 days ago... now testing negative and have no symptoms

It’s the explosion of social media mate. So much misinformation about on there that is very convincing from people who - on the outset - seem like very convincing people who entice you in and make you think that you should listen to them go against the grain.Brexit was the starter, covid was the main. It was only a few years ago but already life seemed simpler before they both came along.
Indeed. Would have resurrected the mood of the nation.Think we missed a trick in not having a national celebration in April last year to replace the wrecked Xmas. Would have raised spirits.
One more negative test tomorrow and you’re free to enjoy Christmas how you want, fella!i was positive 8 days ago... now testing negative and have no symptoms

Only if double jabbed, if not you have to isolate for 10 days regardless. That’s not the advice. If you are negative for 2 days on day 7, then isolation is up.
I think it is a sound idea. You should promote it on social media. I stay away from there but it is where these things can be made to take off. Maybe Boris will be desperate for anything that looks like he is giving people and businesses something good by then. And you are right it makes economic sense. Could even be an annual event when this pandemic is over. Thanksgivng for that makes every bit as much sense as the reason the US have that weekend in November. Bonding with others around them (native americans helping the settlers) who saw them through a bitter Winter crisis. Hence why I suggested calling it Thanksgiving as it is not dissimilar thanking the NHS for getting us through this winter crisis last year and this.Makes sense for businesses too.
