Correct but he was in the squad for a reason and could have been of use in the second half of the season depending on potential injuries of other players and also in between major later stage UCL games

We are actually only getting pack what we paid for him. With any Gravy on top coming from his appearances over the next few years, when Barcelona might then be a bit better off financially. To give this deal for one of Europe hottest properties at least a bit of respectability.

But we have to accept it is a bi-product of having Barcelona sycophants at the Club.

Barcelona just set a release clause of 1 Billion for him.

That's a fair point.

Maybe being out of the League Cup has helped a little bit. Might need a bigger lead in the league so we can rotate more when the UCL knockouts come along.

This’d be a good post if it wasn’t inaccurate and silly.

we got back the €28mil we paid for him and got back nearly €30mil on top of that with an extra €10mil coming our way for a player who barely featured and whilst promising, didn’t achieve that much. (Figures taken from transfermrket)
He had his head turned and had the decency to tell those in charge he wanted out, and like a decent club which respects it players we let him go for a good price and with minimal fucking about.
