Arsenal (A) - Post-Match Thread

We weren’t at our best. Easy to admit. And even we aren’t we are too good for Arsenal.

Arsenal played some good football and looked sharper. No wonder as they had the full week off and played at home.
Still did not managed to beat us fair and square.

We normally are up against referee and linesman. Today it looked more neutral. We should’ve had a penalty in the 1st half when Jesus was clearly held back (we were given a penalty for that when we played Leicester). It WAS a clear penalty in the 2nd half. And who can moan in all modesty about the red cad?
I’m sure we won’t see this ref for a long time. But I thought it was a pretty decent performance.
It wasn’t the refereeing decisions that made us win the game. Arsenal have to blame themselves.

And who would’ve said we would’ve won even without the sending off?

We won. Arsenal played good. We didn’t. But we won. And tomorrow I can sit back and relax. And see what the rentboys and dippers will make of the gap we created

Would love to be a blue walking out of that stadium today, the tarquins and their half empty stadium can poke it.

A lot of screaming about cheating and VAR helping City out, who are the new utd btw getting all the decisions.

Odd that they have all failed to mention that two of their players went and scrubbed at the penalty spot, a dirty cheat in cricket once did something similar and he got a ban for 3 matches.

Peter Walton tying himself up in knots trying to justify the decision.
It was worse than that - Walton tying himself up in knots trying to justify the VAR decision while simultaneously trying to hint at the fact that they were the wrong decisions. The commentary and punditry were both shockingly biased. Joleon didn't offer much in the way of a City perspective either.

My stream packed in right at the death when we had a break three against one, wtf happened there , how did we fuck that one up. It died when Sterling passed it to Mahrez?

Well he did but only after the leg incident and shirt pull, you can't be as biased as to think he didn't throw himself down after that because we know that they have to or it won't be given but he went down like Tom Daley and I mean that in a dive fashion not on his husband fashion :)
The 70's called - they want their homophobic joke back.

I haven't seen any of these decisions that media arseholes and Arsenal fans are moaning about. I'll watch the extended highlights later and form a view.

But if we got lucky with something, it's just karma finally paying those twats back for Malcolm Macdonald's blatant dive to win the penalty that beat us in the League Cup QF replay in January 1978. If I say Alf Grey, older Blues will fully understand.
Odergaard penalty incident wasnt a penalty and the ref said it wasnt at the moment. Video review by the ref didnt happen because it wasnt an error by the ref (Odegaard had actually puts studs onto Eddies foot)

Red card was a red card - just the same as Wolves-Jimenez, stupid player.

Our penalty - Bernard diving motion but the foul (Hands around him, knee block, shirt pull) happened before the fall. Ref didnt give the pen. But because VAR said he was wrong he reviewed the decision and changed it.

Arsenal fans, lfc fans all up in arms, VAR ruining the game change the rules, the queen needs to get involved.

The irony of calling a player who was fouled twice in the same action a cheat for throwing himself to the ground when theres 3 separate players caught on camera literally cheating trying to scuff up the turf is not lost on arsenal fans. Oh this is magnificent levels of bitterness.

Arsenal fans saying "I hope city don't win nuffink now" is a particularly hurtful blow though. Bernardo will be sat on the bus home head in his hands contemplating life knowing his action to ensure the correct decision was made has resulted in losing the well wishes of Arsenals top fans.

We played 6 games in 20 days more than any other team, for once we got a few breaks and rub of the green which is long overdue ok we lacked energy and legs but still battled out the win, i’m actually more chuffed with this win than a 3 nil or so, it’s a huge win, January is a month now were we can get some rest and re-energise, we’ll look back in May and say this was a major day in title race.
Extra bonus it’s pissing on every other cunts chips the bitter, jealous know nowt cunts!
At the beginning of Dec, I posted that this period can be a time of shifting positions in the league and that results were more important than performance. Today proved to that in spades. Priceless result.

Three games in five and a half days, brilliant effort really. Impossible to put in top performances with zero preparation time in between games. I was critical today but then you have to face up to reality and look at the bigger picture
