Would not be surprised if our Portuguese contingent are also allowed home for some seasonal family time with grannies and such like. They all certainly deserve it.

Nooo. Only Rooney allowed home to see his Grannie!!!

I shall be drinking out of my Nicky Summerbee Swindon Town mug for the rest of the week to tire out 'You Reds' so that by HT they will be well 'n truly knackered and the three goal lead, courtesy of three dodgy pens, will quickly be wiped within the first quarter of the second half.

We should manage to win this but we need to give many a good rest before the Chelsea game. Just watching Chelsea v Liverpoo and it seems like a game of pinball, Tommy would have been proud.

The weird thing is I don't think Pep will put a weak starting 11 as everyone is posting.

We have nearly a week from our last game until this one, and then about a week after this game for the next one.

He will probably go full strength, then when we score 3, probably put a bunch of kids on then.

Edit: That being said, with Mahrez gone, I could see maybe Palmer starting. Ake and Stones should get more minutes here. Hopefully McAtee get's some minutes as a substitute atleast.

I’d like to see Grealish and Stones start this, play themselves into form and fitness.

A good opportunity to give some game time to promising academy graduates, and the likes of Stones, Walker, Zinchenko and Grealish to get some fitness. Steffen in goal, and mix and match. We should be able to manage this tie without too much sweat, the big one is on Jan 15th, win that and we can begin to dream

Steffen

Walker
Stones
Ake
Wilson-Esbrand

Fernandinho
Gundogan
McAtee

Palmer
Jesus
Grealish

Should be enough to win comfortably. In reality we’ll probably start with 11 first teamers and win 2-0 whilst Palmer and McAtee sit on the bench the entire game.

Yeah that fucking bald fraud, what’s he ever done for us. You should always worry about a post that gets a like from Fordy

Stayed in same hotel as the team when during steve coppell's brief reign when we went there and got beat, but also we've had some ace visits there including having to go there new years eve one time. Many of us had a decent pitch invasion there at the final whistle wasn't frowned as much on in them days ha ha, pretty sure that was our 4-3 win but ending up on the turf was commonplace even if it meant as part of re-locating from other out of bounds areas of the ground if you get my drift. Another eventful visit being anticipated, CITY CITY CITY.

Pep will use this as a fitness run-out. We know Mahrez is absent and maybe he will give Jesus, Sterling, Silva, Rodri, KDB, Eddie and maybe Cancelo a rest. Depending on fitness his options may be limited, but I would expect Walker, Ake, Palmer, McAtee and Fernandino to be involved At some stage, but Pep is a better judge than me

Very hard to call on what Pep will go with he'll want everyone fresh going into the Chelsea game too.

Is 5 subs allowed in the FA Cup? Not that it matters because we rarely use subs :)

Tricky this as pep needs players focused especially for champs league & with so many points clear in league players can take foot off the gas which is not good.

I can see a mix of players here which is good, get the likes of Grealish up to speed for champs league but I see plenty of big players here too

There'll be changes undoubtedly, however, I feel Pep won't want his starting team against Chelsea too "out of sorts" so I reckon there'll be less changes than most think.

Plenty of subs for once though I imagine.
