I am a contrary beast Kaz - rabid leftie who thinks the reasons the Royal Family exists are wrong but I am so behind the Queen and will be bereft when she passes.
 
Queen Elizabeth II is a Good Thing, as the authors of 1066 and All That
would so admirably have put it.
 
Not a royalist but i think she has been a brilliant Queen.Big shoes to fill not sure Charles is up to the job.
Love visiting the Palace Galleries and all the Palaces and Castles so hope he is up to it and the Royals continues for years.
Elizabeth 1,Victoria and Elizabeth 2 all powerful female rulers.
 
I’m not a royalist but I’ve always liked her.

Carries herself with dignity and integrity, which is more than can be said of our elected politicians.
 
Its difficult to dislike the old bag, after all its not her fault she was a product of a system that inbuilds class distinction into British society.

Once she has popped her clogs and all the hysterical wailing and OTT pomposity and circumstance is over we should become a Republic, dismantle the remains of the aristocracy , get rid of Lords Barons and other Ridiculous titles and elect a titular head of state that lives in a council flat in somewhere like Harpurhey.

Fuck all the hanger on royals off and make them do proper jobs, strip them of military stuff they ain't earned and sell off the royal palaces to homeless charities for a quid so they can be used to house people who live on the streets,

Then we need a new written constitution that get rids of patronage, stop the ludicrous honours system and as a country grow the fuck up.

Thanks for your service Liz, you have been a decent old bag, but I hope you are the last old bag enforced on to the great people of this country.
 
what an amazing woman and im proud to think that the world still holds her in high esteem - i would love to see her at Royal Ascot this year

Is it a 4 day bank holiday? I thought it was 1 day extra combined with moving one of the may days.

Anyway, it isnt for all is it, public sector only, most seem to be choosing not to give it.
