Hospitality/box experience at City

We come down for most of the CL games and have been to both Legends and Citizens. Always been good…my mate Richard, who’s a big unit to say the least (in fact he’s a heart attack waiting to happen) always blags it and orders all the starters, goes back for seconds of the carvery, and has the 3 deserts…no one ever says anything…apart from us giving him it for being a fat bastard!
Would definitely recommend Citizens

My only experience of corporate was v Mansfield in the Auto Windshield thingy.

Wasn't planning on going but a friend called me on the day of the game and said his friend had offered him 2 tickets for a Platt Lane box...... so off I went.
There were 7 of us in the box and hardly anyone in any other box.
Halfway through the 2nd half a steward comes in and does a head count.
The attendance was then given as 3007 and we laughed and claimed our place as being The Seven.
Still get raggies mention that game and the low crowd, totally taking it out of context. They never mention it being the highest crowd by a distance in that round. It didn't help things when the daily mirror had a full back page spread rediculously comparing our crowd with traffords full house champions league game, kicking us when we were at are lowest. never bought that paper since.

It was the home game after that, Bristol Rovers, when a lad I know managed to get into the press room at half time and with smiles asked who was from the Mirror.... and when the Mirror man identified himself, he received a few punches......
Turned out though he wasn't the one who penned the offending article! But the message was delivered.

Tunnel club has a defibrillator....sculpted in ice.

Been to Cityzens a few times with my lad, really enjoyed it every time. Excellent all round.

Legends though, when we went there I was disappointed. Felt like budget hospitality, little more than a nice canteen and seats that were nowhere near what Cityzens offered.

Would rather do Cityzens twice than Legends three times for about the same money.

Tunnel club appeals, though I can't really justify the cost.

I went to the Tunnel Club for the Brentford game, the cheaper upstairs option. It was also one of the cheaper games this season with a bit of a discount for season ticket holders costing £324. All around great experience.

Pep and the players stride through fairly quickly and the announcer struggles to keep up with them. These days they are behind plexiglass. Rodri is a complete rock and beast close up, and you wouldn’t want to tangle with Laporte, Stones or Dias either.

The food and drink just keeps coming from the welcoming drink as you pick up a lanyard, to last orders after the game. The staff there are brilliant and it’s a cast of thousands serving.

The quality of the food is excellent and they take your order for your halftime and full time drinks. They give you a gentle nudge to let you know it’s last orders too, so always time for a last-minute wine to go with the after-match pie.

They had John Salako chatting before the game and Brentford ‘celebrity fan’ Dean Gaffney at half time. Sadly Dean didn’t bring Wellard with him. Salako seemed overawed at being there. I was slightly surprised there were some Brentford fans in there too. They were well-behaved, but I could imagine it may not been the same with all away fans.

Paul Dickov breezed through and so did John Stapleton - there must have been other faces about. I noticed the Dsquared2 twins, Dean and Dan Caten walking through after the game.

The seats were very comfy and supposedly heated. It certainly seemed warm enough second half to take my coat off. Would definitely do it again as a once-a-season treat for one of the cheaper matches, but will also try out some of the other options too.

Glad you had a great time and that steak looks superb but if I had that sort of money available for one game I'd do something at Etihad South for a final.

I’ve done every hospitality on offer. from tunnel club, through to managers corner. all have been superb.
I’ve done a few, like the Mancunian as the best balance between swanky and authentically City. Legends is fine for what it is. Weirdly, not sure I’d enjoy the Tunnel Club, suspect it would be a bit too phone/Instagram wanker heavy for me.
Did a box a couple of times and preferred the lounges tbf, more a buzz and you didnt feel so isolated
Not done the Chairman’s yet but that is supposed to be proper

Went to opening game against Blackpool in the box at Platt Lane. Steak was that blue (raw) it was still neighing. Had to call for back up Chicken Baltis. Good game though.

And the funny thing is, United have had league attendances as low as that!

My mate from Stockport reckons that one of the hospitality area has real ale (handpumps). Can anyone confirm this ?
Probably not Holt.

If they did imagine what they would be like? Better sticking to bottles at a football ground.

I'm sure you're right, it'd have a 6 inch head, but they manage it at plenty of League grounds like Milton Keynes and Colchester where they serve it from the barrel !

EDIT : Just alerted to the Ardwick "with authentic interiors and a weekly changing selection of cask ales, The Ardwick offers all the comforts of a traditional pub". On my bucket list.
