Russian invasion of Ukraine

Hard working low paid plebs...like me = commie

If we voted in a communist party next election you’d still be a hard working low paid pleb - you’d just get to wear the same outfit and drive the same car as every other one of us hard working low paid plebs. Still least we will all have a bit more time on our hands as we won’t have to bother with that voting nonsense anymore, nor think for ourselves, or read the politics forum on BM as that will get shut down.

Commie = the lazy ruling elite who tell you to do more for the country - pretty much like capitalism but without the trickle down effect, freedoms, and not being murdered by the state if your face doesn’t fit. But the army marches a bit nicer so it’s not all bad.

To be fair to Gaddafi, we painted him as a baddie when he’d never done much wrong outside Lybia and he liked to go along with it because it made him rich.

It’s likely Gaddafi had nothing to do with the Lockerbie bombing and that it was Syria’s Assad who was the culprit, with links to terrorists from Iran as well, but Gaddafi was paid to say it was him so he thought “sod it!”
Bullshit

It's hypocrisy, if taken very simplistically. We can have bases near you, but you can't have any near us.

As with most things there's a lot of nuance, geopolitical history and very valid reasons that need to be taken into account as to the difference between the USA having bases abroad near their perceived 'enemies' and say Russia having bases near the USA.

Despite some peoples feeling towards the USA, having them play the role as World Police has worked pretty well for most of us for the past 75+ years. The most ardent supporter of the US will concede that the US tends to step in only when provoked or more often than not, when if it benefits US interests, however the majority of the world, especially Europe, sleeps well at night because of them.

Russia and China are the next two 'super powers' and both have had, and currently still do, have eyes on expanding not only their influence but also their territories. This makes a lot of countries that neighbor these military giants very nervous indeed and fortunately at this moment in time they can rely on their relationship with the US to ensure they are not invaded. Ukraine is currently one of these countries.

You might not like the US, nor care for their foreign policy but it's better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Can you point out those valid reasons why the US should have hundreds of military bases surrounding its enemies, but Russia/China should not? I’ve yet to hear one good reason.

China is certainly the next preeminent super power. I’m not sure that I’d put Russia anywhere near the superpower bracket. Their economy is smaller than France’s and their military spending is a tiny fraction of the US’s.

Russia would claim that Crimea was historically a part of Russia, and that a majority of the people living there would prefer to be a part of Russia. China have always held claim to Taiwan. I’m not saying that they’re correct, but I think the situation is less black and white than the US would have you believe.

I completely disagree that a majority of the world favours US foreign policy. That view is a consequence of living in Europe and being exposed to western media. A majority of Europe perhaps, but certainly not a majority of the world.

To be fair if they were a football club they would be liverpool.

Self entitled.
Make everything about them (world series ffs).
Have their own version of history.
Plenty of racist, cunts and notrites but they pretend they are wholesome.
Take the piss out of their own regulary.
Cause trouble everytime they go overseas.
Never their fault.

Just an FYI, the "World series" is named the "world series" as its named after the news paper called the 'New York world". Its not claiming to be a World cup sorta thing.

USA created a lot of this situation by trying to influence former Soviet states to join NATO. Russia doesn't want NATO (and the US) right on its border. The US weren't exactly keen on having Russia in Cuba in the 60s were they? Both countries run by dickheads trying to see who has the biggest cock! Hopefully things will calm down and they can all go for a cup of tea!

When you say ‘commies’ do you mean it in the same way those red hat wearing inbreds say it or does it mean something different because you’re a big fancy rich pilot?
Red hats? No.
Big? Too much so…laterally.
Fancy? Absolutely not.
Rich? I wish.
Pilot? Yes.

Putin has played a blinder.

He's embarrassed the UK even more along with NATO and Biden.

They are going to look a bit silly demanding sanctions on a country that's had its little war game within its borders and is going home.

If you read the details of the investigation, there was no shortage of evidence that Lockerbie was planned and perpetrated by Libyans and no evidence of Syrian involvement. All the Syria/Iran stuff is based on conspiracy theories not evidence.
Bloody hell, it was on a documentary on the BBC made by Adam Curtis. I just thought what he reported was what happened haha

Glad you told me that!

Not a single thing in there was either, but, if we are playing the “I don’t know you, but…” game you sound like a lovely bloke without a chip on his shoulder or an ounce of envy.

Good luck to you.
‘Envy’? You’re a taxi driver who lives in the US amongst Americans.
