Russian invasion of Ukraine

He kind of has a point, NATO has morphed from a defensive alliance into an imperialistic entity. It is American expansionism by stealth. Putin has a point, why on earth would he want to allow more NATO expansionism on his doorstep. Still doesn't alter the fact Putin is brutal **** mind.

So to stop all this all they have to do is say Ukraine will not be used as any base for NATO?

And the more he threatens, nations like Finland and Sweden become more receptive to joining NATO.

So, perhaps all this has little to do with NATO.

will have done what he wanted - made great coverage humiliating the " once important Great Britain " on state news - Truss thinks this was all real whereas Lavrov knows only too well its as much about symbolism.

That Lavrov is performing for domestic consumption is predictable as he and the Russians have form for trying to humiliate European leaders. They dislike European countries telling them anything. Russia regard themselves as a superpower and only their equals like US/China get to engage on their level.

Truss it seems should have been better briefed and no doubt this was more about her potential leadership campaign, but as long as she stuck to the same message as everyone else then job done.

Yeah look at NATO doing all this…

He has no point at all. NATO is a defensive alliance and countries want to join as Putin tends to invade countries he fancies, see Crimea and Georgia. Are you shocked that former satellite states want to join?

You'll get shouted down for telling this truth in this thread Rasc.

Distraction tactic from Domestic issues again from Biden.

CNN are on a war footing. MSNBC are more concerned about Trump binning top secret documents down the shitter. Faux are just Faux, pumping out rhetoric supporting and demanding the far right truck demonstration is repeated here.

Funny how none of the western media aren't showing Putin saying publicly he doesn't want a war.

Someone on both sides needs to see some fucking sense. There’s no way anyone can afford a war between the West and Russia, because some **** on one of the sides will escalate to nuclear then we’re all fucking dead.

Absolutely anything is better than a nuclear war, even letting Russia invade Ukraine and killing thousands of them.
problem is though at what point is enough enough? China annexes Tibet, Taiwan next? Russia rolls into the Crimea, Georgia, lots of western diplomacy but it has no affect whatsoever. this time its Ukraine, if Putin wants to invade, nothing the west is willing to do will stop him. Then who is next?

I agree with your comments by the way, just pointing out the bleeding obvious :)
