For the first time I think Sky News has actually taken over the BBC News on reporting of a big event.

Sky News seems to have better people to interview i.e former president of Ukraine.

And it seems to be giving a much better overview of the military actions themselves. They've just described how the main battle force of the Russians is closing on on Kyiv and they are likely to be ready by this evening. But might want to wait until morning light (street fighting is hard enough in the day) before they move in.

They also gave people images of what extra hardware these main forces bring i.e more Su35 fighter-bombers, more tanks (largely T72s), more BMP armoured personnel carriers and heavy artillery units as well.

I haven't seen any of that sort of detail on the BBC and that's pretty basic information.

Sky are better on every major story i find

Big news if true about Turkey blockading the Black Sea. What happens if a Russian warship tries to get through could certainly get interesting mind, and not in a good way.

Not that big a deal as maritime law dictates them be let through to home ports even during war. So could only be stoping ruskie ships leaving the Black Sea for the med, and if we are worried about that direction anytime soon it’ll be very bad news.

The Russians will take Kiev and Ukraine eventually, but it will be at a much heavier cost in Russian armed forces lives. 10,000’s of Russian Soldiers will die.

It’s safe to say Putin, his inner circle, and the Russian generals thought they could just roll into Kiev and the job wold be done. Unfortunately for Putin he is fighting a nation, not just an army.

Even after defeat the Ukrainians will launch a never ending insurgency backed by arms and intelligence from NATO. Attacks and arms supplies will cross the old Ukrainian border freely. This will be Putin’s and Russia’s (old) Afghanistan, but in Eastern Europe.

Credit to the Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy. He has stayed with his people fighting the Russians, even though it will mean certain death if the Russians get to him.

I see Putin is now threatening Finland and Sweden with attacks if they decide to join NATO. Deary me! Finland has nearly 900,000 troops, regular and reservists. Sweden has 50,000 troops. But will know doubt call up Men of fighting age.

We all know Putin is…..(fill in as appropriat) But even he isn’t thot mad to invade a NATO country and take on 30 countries including America. Or is he? If the Russian army is already getting bogged down in Ukrain, how will it fair fighting NATO from the Baltic States in the North, all the way down to Turkey in the South? And if Finland and Sweden join NATO, or defend their borders, Putin will have a war on his hands the full length of Russia’s Western flank.
