Russian invasion of Ukraine

Not how a trust works mate, he either retains future control (in which case the trust wrapper doesn’t shield it from being stripped from him) or he relinquished any future control in full (in which case he’s ‘gifted’ it and they aren’t his assets).
As it stands he retains ownership and has handed stewardship over to the charitable Trust.

Had a blazing row with my youngest boy this morning, him talking about his friend and him going to help Ukraine as part of this 'foreign legion'.
He has no military training whatsoever, he's studying law at Uni ffs, what would he do, read to them ????
I'd imagine it's all talk & just young mens bravado, well i hope it is.
Then i think about Ukrainian parents & their children taking up the fight.
Not sure i can stop him if he's determined to go, hopefully he'll calm down
My childrens grandad was Ukraine on their mothers side.
I’m fearing the same reaction from my eldest but 30 years ago I’d feel the same

As a country we have to share the burden for refugees, it is as simple as that.
Yeah is agree with that, but I’m asking whether it’s just as easy as saying it in order to action it. Sometimes people have this juvenile view of things and think we live in a simplistic world, when the reality could be much more complicated than just saying “let’s do it”.

“Ez blud, give man ur AK or mans gonna blast u innit fam, big ups Ukraine mandem brap brap!!”
Loud speakers attached to the moped playing the latest drill..the Russians will soon fuck off..our version of oddball in Kelly's heroes woof woof woof

I think its unrealistic to expect Germany to cripple it's own economy to help Ukraine. A very tough choice for sure.
Iran has been under sanctions for years. They survive because they are supported by China and to a small extent by their neighbours. If anything it slows domestic change because in Iran, everything can be blamed on hostile overseas countries.

Question I’ve been thinking about.

I know and understand why NATO can’t/won’t send troops in to aid but what about non NATO countries? Why couldn’t they send forces in to aid?

Name no NATO cointries russia invading ukraine effects?

Russias advance is a threat to the baltic states, poland, finland, moldova etc borders, doubt the brazillian, Rwandan, Nepalese or south korean etc armys are willing to risk lives for a conflict miles away that doesn't affect them.

Unless as a mandated UN peacekeeping force, but we are a long way from that process.

And declaring war on Russia from around the globe will effectively will kick off a world war

All countries that border Russia are either part of NATO, or side with Russia to a certain extent. I can’t imagine any other countries would want to get involved either tbh

What Mrs Walker forgets/doesn't know is the Ukrainian people have been under Russian control before. They clearly don't want that again. There are times when you have to stand up for what you believe, even if it means you might die. If my son(s) went off to fight I would be so worried but also so proud.
I'll pass your message on.

This is getting boring pal. Every fucking post is about your personal political persuasion. It’s boring now, even when you’re attacking things I agree with you about.

There’s an entire politics subforum for you to enjoy the circle jerk where we can call Brexiteers idiots and opine on how useless Boris is. Can we have one serious thread where you don’t have to make every. single. post. about it?

Oh dear - has someone suffered a sense of humour breakdown?
