Ghengis Khan, back in the day. Not sure of what bits of the empire specifically though.

He would slaughter entire populations and once the word was out that you didn't resist he was sort of welcomed. Not quite the same as being invited in but it wasn't all force.

There’s never been an empire that didn’t exist through force or threat of force is probably a more accurate statement.

Regardless, there’s very few people today who want their country to have an empire and we can see quite clearly how horrified people are at Russia doing it in 2022 and that’s left, centre, right wing people too.

I know that slaughtering every man woman and child bar one poor bloke who gets to tell the next village what's round the corner (just before being slaughtered himself) so that they surrender is not the overall peaceful approach.

I’ve just been fascinated by the reporting of the convoy because it was 17 miles long at one point and grew and grew to 40 miles long and every time the reporting made out like it was growing but it was the same amount of troops just more spread out.

You can add the endless fucking hacking and ransomware attacks the go on day after day after day, originating from Russia. Whilst the Kremlin does fuck all about it, no, in fact probably encourages it and is behind half of it.

The sooner this truly Evil Empire falls, the better.
