Who is we? the UK, or Europe/the west more generally.

And are we acting as world police in this instance? Offering help to civilans needing it, a way out of danger, and trying to limit the attaking country's resources through sanctions. That isn't that different to what happens in most conflicts around the world.
 
I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but its about time Russia Today has been taken off air. :)

I agree and I am not saying we storm in all guns blazing but at the same time we cannot do nothing because of fear of a nuclear war.

Pakistan striking a new Russian gas deal, for example, since their own reserves are completing. Happy to look after themselves and fuck the consequences.

Agreed but I think they’ve taken a pretty good approach. If this starts going wrong for Russia and he looks for a step back, we should allow it tho.

We will not do anything alone and nor should we. As you say we are not the World Police. It is also the reason why NATO won't get directly involved, Ukraine is not part of that pact.
My answer is we, the nato countries, bolster up our defences ready for the mad bastard going into one of ours.
My point was more to the posters who, out of fear of a nuclear war, seemed to be saying 'let him do what ever he wants.'

Not sure why Russia keeps spouting the no war its a "special military operation" Surely the umbrella of being at war provides some scope for the activities involved. How can Russians involved with a "special military operation" be involved with the killing of anyone, civilian or military not be accused of murder. At "War" means that deaths are inevitable and authorities are recognising that "War Crimes" may have been committed. Surely the Russians can be accused of murder without a war crimes complication by their own insistence that they are not at war.

As a function of going to Uni in the USA, I had to sign up for Selective Service…more commonly known as The Draft!

I’m not sure what would have happened had there been a nasty conflict and they had started that Lottery?!

Yes he might do that especially as part of a peace deal. We then slowly drop all the sanctions and life returns to normal. Hmmmmm sadly I could see the west agreeing to that
