What's ridiculous is that my annual income at age 67 would be five grand more than I am earning now.
I've put in for 2 days at work, a reduced/early occupational pension and a lump sum.
My arthritis/spondylitis that raised it's head in early 2020 isn't going to get better, so sod it
 
Whether it be in days, weeks or months, murderer Putin is going to lose this war; he won't be able to take and hold Ukraine. But, what happens when he realises that?

It’s going to be an interesting thing domestically. There’s a lot of companies that are going to go bust in Russia, wouldn’t be surprised if some start letting their employees know what’s really going on.

As a computer programmer and fan of technology - I'm fascinated by crypto currency and the role that it may play in financial transactions.

My sense is that some form of cryptocurrency will ascend to prominence within, say, the next 5 years or so.

Yes I had the opportunity to do a job share but I wanted a clean break. It's the freedom of nobody giving you orders or telling you what to do with your time that's great. I miss the banter but that's about it, oh and the extra cash is great but the price for getting it isn't. Also your health is only going to go downhill as you age no matter how fit you are so enjoy it now before that happens.

My assumption is that all this BS about recognizing Donbass & Donetsk as seperate states is just to justify the invasion from a legal point of view. It makes it possible to pretend the invasion is about ”peace keeping” and protecting states that are ”under attack” which obviously is insane. But more importantly, it makes it harder to prosecute Putin and Russia for war crime in an international court of law when the war is over. Invading someone to protect a state thats under attack is legal, invading someone to hinder them from joining a military alliance is illegal. They used pretty much the same tactic when they invaded Georgia in 2008.

This is of course just my guess, and I might be wrong
 
Some of these Ukrainian soldiers are fucking brave/completely mad.

Running up to tank columns and firing a rocket launcher at them, mental stuff, I won't post the video.

Can't believe how exposed these tank/vehicle columns are, not equipped for the terrain and no air support. Makes me think that the lads in them don't really know what they're doing but exposes how poor the generals are as well.

Did it before the pandemic started, best thing I've done, just asked to reduce my hours again.

One thing, be careful they don't take the piss, we've been short staffed, and I agreed to work extra to cover, but it got to the point where was almost back working full time, and I couldn't use my leave up because of the extra hours, so I've just told them to shove that, and I won't be doing it any more, if they want cover they can get the staffing right.

Maybe should be in the World Cup 2022 thread. It may be football and not war but the irony in the Russian Football Federations response to being banned by UEFA/FIFA almost made me spit my coffee out (not from a balcony or out of the car window though)

Your outgoings drop dramatically once out of the office environment...travel costs, lunches, clothes etc.

There's also the get up when you want....it's icy/blowing a gale/pissing down......no worries I'll have another brew and stay inside.

I've been out I think about 8 years now on the same sort of terms you've likely been offered, feels like 2 years rather than 8.

I still wake up at 5.30/6.00am but now don't have to put up with all the shit that goes with the CS.

Need to be immediate sanctions as well.

We're sanctioning them and then giving them between 1 month - 18 months (depending on the sanction) to get their affairs in order.

The whole point of sanctions are that they're suppose to hurt, yes it could hurt us a bit too but nothing compared to what the Ukrainians are going through.
