Russian invasion of Ukraine

No words really, "watch this" i would say to anyone reading this comment.
The part where he mentioned his 'mom' made my eyes fill with tears.
Putin needs to be a real man and either go and fight on the front line himself, or call a halt to this horror.

Inch by inch, the world moves closer to World War 3

From somewhere the world needs a person who will bring some sanity to the situation, because if it does not happen, Russia has over 2,500 nuclear weapons. MAD becomes reality.

Very worrying times.

By sanity you mean someone putting a bullet in the midget cunts head?

The students with dark skins are not being denied into poland because of their colour , they are students and they are getting nationals out first , women and kids

'They were allowing only women and children, I said "OK, that's fine", but I don't see you taking the other African women and the other Middle Eastern women, they are pregnant.

'And they were actually in the cold, some with their kids. We've been here for three days. We're dying of cold.'

Guessing these were also some of those "dark skin men" trying to run away from the war, correct?

Which is why strong conventional defence is important and why letting Russia rearm since 2005 without matching them has been a total disaster.

Take their nukes out of the equation and there is nothing they have shown that we should lose any sleep over not matching. All it seems they’ve done in the last 30 odd years is give a derelict house a fresh paint job.

Biden is an old-fashioned Democrat brought up during the Cold War, so this is familiar territory. The idea of weakness is fashioned as much by our own perceptions than reality. Biden was said to be weak given the handling of Afghanistan. Yet Biden pursued his strategy of pulling out of Afghanistan in the face of opposition from his Generals and European allies, all wanting him to ‘delay things further’. Irrespective of whether you agree with the decision, the way in which it was pursued did not suggest a weakness of resolve. Single minded stubbornness, deaf to reason, maybe, but weak it was not.

There was much wailing about the demise of the West after Afghanistan and maybe Putin drew comfort from that, but the West has responded well over Ukraine and the Americans were on the money throughout with their view an invasion was imminent - even naming the day ( which was a bit cheeky). There was a lot of rubbishing of the American intel and how Putin was simply ‘playing’ Biden, yet Putin is the one knee deep in Ukraine with bodies piling up and his economy in the shitter, so who is ‘playing’ who now?

Countries have stepped up and the US has been the one leading. The EU nor anyone else was going to go this far on sanctions unless the US was on board. Is Biden going to risk nuclear war over Ukraine? No. I doubt any US President would, but then the US isn’t threatening nuclear war. It doesn’t have to if it keeps applying nuclear economic sanctions and that is also telling when it comes to respective strengths because the US can arse fuck Russia economically, but Russia can’t do the same to the US. All Russia has is nukes and military threats. Outside of that it’s like being threatened by Portugal.
good post. Media coverage in the west says the exact opposite.

How can you predict what’s going to happen with such certainty ffs?

Some of the people I know who watch RT have the same worldview, they seem to be pro China and without exception anti America, they are like children unable to think for themselves.

And that's here and now, in the west with the ability to read and watch any news source they want to. I have distanced myself from most of these people over the covid conspiracies they propagate but this is the final nail in the coffin for them.

They think they are being edgy, they think they are free thinkers going against the grain but in reality they are just mealy mouthed contrary cunts who mistake themselves for the intelligentsia they most certainly are not.
They are stupid cunts who think they are smarter than the rest of us.

It’s been plundered on fancy yachts, not much chance of that up against the Uss Carl Vinson. They have one 5th generation fighter that they don’t seem to want to let lose in this conflict.

If they used a squadron of B2 Spirits on some of those tank columns they Russians wouldn’t have a clue what had happened. I suppose the fragments of bomb would be a give away though.

Why are you trying to reignite something from two weeks ago ? Especially since i have seen plenty getting out , swivel

It will. It may take years, but it will

Don't think anyone can really predict that. History suggests otherwise. It has already Been 30+ years. This takes it backwards, and will slow it down rather than launch it forwards.

It will drag on. The tragedy in it is, the suffering and time it takes is so bloody disproportionate to the miniscule shift in 'bargaining position'.

Ukraine has an incredibly bright future, that's one of the reasons Putin had to invade it.

Zelensky & co. were pushing out the old soviet era oligarchs and moving them towards a functional democracy at which point their massive wealth of natural resources would start to get exploited and all the money with it.

We've all seen over the last fortnight how closely Russians view Ukrainians - the "little brother" becoming the richest country in the region would have been devastating for Putin.
Agreed - Last think he wanted was more evidence (see transformation of baltic states alone) on his door step of what a fair, prospering and functioning democracy looks like - although not perfect, it puts his autocratic system of nepotism and exploitation of its citizens to shame.

He will also have been fully aware that as soon as the EU had green lighted entry into the Union they will have been eligible for vast amounts of subsidies to improve their infrastructure and the cultural integration into 'Western' style life would have been completed for good.

Was drinking with a Ukrainian friend yesterday and he said that its so painful as he felt they were so close to opening a brighter new chapter away from the clutches and shadow of Russia.

Yet you feel able to predict the outcome.
Not saying it will be immediate, but the long term benefits are there to be seen
