The general view is that people didn't like the free movement of people or people seeking refugee status here. Now that we are living with the 24 hour coverage of the horrific war in Ukraine ,the general feeling is that we should be taking a lot more Ukrainian refugees but I bet they don't feel the same about other refugees of different nationalities. If the government takes a different approach to Ukrainian refugees ,will they be accused of prejudice?

The gov cant argue whether people are fleeing a war zone in this case , not letting in the old, women and kids and people with british passports with ukranian family is disgusting

Johnson did say that they’re anticipating taking in hundreds of thousands in the coming months, though that is admittedly little comfort to those seeking refuge now.

Presumably Ukrainians flying into Dublin could rather easily make their way into Ulster.

Not at all, I have freely acknowledged one person in that field on this forum and no doubt there are others. It just struck me that there was rather a lot. It was only a little light hearted comment my friend.

Even if reverting to Wiki they show the tactical nous of Army Catering Corps cooks.
 
So it is being talked about today that we might send ukraine anti tank and anti aircraft weapons , thought we were the first in the world to give them these weapons ? Every minister and the clown in charge have been bragging about it , worst lies than the mad russian himself

very few are claiming to be experts in the field but most are just offering an opinion or giving some good insight on the situation- it’s the whole purpose of a forum.

According to Ben Wallace (Trust a conservative cabinet member at your own risk)

- We have sent 3600 NLAWs

- We are going to start sending Javelins and the new Starstreak anti aircraft missile .

Starstreak is significant because they go at over 3,000 mph.

Modern fighters can go around 1300mph, Stinger missiles do about 1400mph, so they can be outrun over the 5 miles or so the missile has fuel for. Can’t outrun a starstreak.
