Ffs Pep stop playing him as a false 9 or on the flanks. Central midfield is where he is at his best and Rodri could’ve done with his support tonight as he did vs the dippers on Sunday

Pep is wasting his brilliance at the minute in an effort to squeeze other players into position.Bernardo is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world,we should ensure those qualities are used to their fullest - build our attack around the genius.

Poor today and hasn’t been at it recently - lots of backward passing and giving the ball away.

Are the games just catching up with him (most likely) or is he going back to the patchy form of last season? He’s a bit of an enigma at the moment.

Absolutely love Bernardo but his form has really dipped in last 3-4 weeks. He’s played a hell of a lot of games this season - which is what he wanted after nearly leaving, but with the effort and distance he puts in, he’s struggling to keep the quality up and he’s playing too many negative passes and dropping too deep to get the ball. Looks really tired and Needs a break

He is definitely improving as a LCM and matches against Liverpool (especially Etihad game) / Atletico prove that, but it's still a mystery for me - why Pep didn't play him RCM, where he played in October-November-December period when KDB was injured..

As I understand in order to make Rodri-Bernardo-KDB midfield "happen" - Pep tries to teach him that LCM position, but today I think he could have played there and be more productive.. KDB was on the bench and we could have used "Best Bernardo"..

Also, Pep changes these tactics a lot.. Today he played with 4-4-2 or 4-2-2-2 formation, which means that Bernardo played as number 6 alongside Fernandinho and had no extra man in midfield.. Grealish and Sterling were attacking forwards and Foden and Jesus wide Wingers..

And tired also, of course..

But the main reason I think is Pep's tactics here and formation..

Looks completely fucked. Pep is literally dragging him out for games now, needs a good long rest before the CL semi or its going to end badly for him.

Players were hung out to dry yesterday, square pegs yet again, by the end even Bernardo gave up chasing. Not to mention Kevin shaking his head on the bench.

Bernardo was in no way poor yesterday. He had so much pressure on his shoulders, far too much for one player. He can't dribble past 4 players everytime he touches it yet that was essentially his task because of the shite options he had infront of him. He did so much work for the side that goes unappreciated and was basically outnumbered the entire game too. Put it this way, if Bernardo wasn't playing yesterday, that would have been an absolute mauling.

Bernardo wasn't nowhere near his best on Saturday, but still miles better than Grealish, fernandinho, Sterling, Gundogan. I hope Pep rests him and Cancelo on Wednesday, because they've had a grueling last few weeks. Others attackers (the ones mentioned) in the squad need to step up.

I would hope he was better than Gündy because Ilkay didn't play on Saturday

I'm the least one who praises him whenever he plays outside of his beloved RCM positions, but
today it was one of his best every games played for this club..

As a False9 he did the man's JOB, HARD JOB and run like a hell, pressed a lot, dribbled a lot, great game and fantastic performance..

Pep has been doing great job with him.. How he progressed this season and learned to play LCM / False9 is 1000% Pep's merit..

Thought he looked quite spritely considering the experts in here reliably informed me he was dead on his feet.
Whether he starts vs Watford or not will be telling. Its our only real opportunity to give him a breather before the end of the season, if Pep starts him in that, it confirms his superhuman status.

Seems that he's regaining form. After the Christmas period, Bernie looked a bit flat at times. Now he is excellent again.
