Duncan Ferguson wouldn't have been too shabby last night :)
Gotta think Bielsa trained in a 6, would make becoming a Pep player a much easier transition? Will be interesting to see who the club goes for as Fernandinho replacement. Kalvin Phillips would be my preferred choice, and seems to be some rumors about him leaving for a bigger club this summer. Plays in a similar role, dont have a 100m+ price tag, homegrown (which isn't any immediate problem but still a positive), English international. Would probably be more willing to accept a squad rotation role than someone like Rice since Rodri would still be first choice pretty much whoever we bring in. Ticks just about every box for me, a bit surprised there hasn't been more links of him going to us.
Unfortunately, there is a downside. Might have been cheaper just to have had 'I'm a complete twat' tattooed on his forehead. Will be interesting to see who the club goes for as Fernandinho replacement. We all know we need some goalscorers.
We already have Delap here and are bringing in Alvarez and hopefullly Haaland.
But Delap is still unproven and for the other two, moving to a new country, adapting to the PL and to Pep's style etc, can be tough, and we may have to be patient before they all start producing.
So If/when Norwich go down, why not try to sign Teemu Pukki?
The lad knows the league, can score goals and works hard from the front. I know he's getting on, but i doubt he would cost a fortune and could be useful while the others are adjusting to life with us.
Well one of them can, and still is, score goals in the PL and it ain't Jo!Think I'd rather have Jo than Puuki
Think he's bang average at best to be honestEvery time we play Leicester I think Pep would work wonders with James Maddison and he looks like a City player already. A bit inconsistent but generally really good.
Anyone else like him?
Perhaps I’ve not seen enough of himThink he's bang average at best to be honest
First Sookie and now PuukiThink I'd rather have Jo than Puuki
Feck pogbaAit Nouri, Pogba or FDJ, Sane & Haaland
Mwepu is a fine player tooI like Trossard, Lamptey and Bissouma from Brighton
Salah was the worst player on the pitch yesterday which, given how we played in the first half, was quite an achievement.Mo Salah. Swap himself and Raheem. Both seem to need a fresh start.
