Frenkie de Jong

Hasn’t it been said that he wants CL football? It’d make sense for him to join Ten Hag at Utd because of the Ajax connection but if they don’t get CL, I doubt he’d go.

I hope to god we’re all over this.

Something tells me Pep would use him as a Kev alternative. I certainly see him further up the park and maybe that means we still need another DM.

But I'd be all for this even at the suggested €70m. We all know what Pep can do with technically great players, and he can see a pass half a continent away. He's probably even be able to fill in at full back.
Ok, stop.

French reports saying that PSG want him but Xavi doesn’t want him leave. I think the multiple Spanish reports that have said that he will leave are to be believed more than the French media.

I think so too. He's a great player and will fit our team perfectly but I do not know if City will be willing to pay the amount they ask for him, and even if wo do he will have to significantly cut his salary. United on the other hand will be happy to offer him and Barcelona whatever they want.
Considering he would be a protagonist in our team, the fee quoted is not scary at all

The fee is about £59 million whilst Haaland’s release clause is £63 million. In total, that’s £122 million which is affordable for us.

Has there been serious links to United?
Not that I’ve seen. I’m just guessing based on nationality. But if we show interest, it may be irresistible to him. He’d also be used a lot next season and even more in the one after, there’s be no issue with playing time. And maybe we could work a deal with Barcelona involving a player?

Valencia deny there is any agreement with Barcelona over the transfer of Carlos Soler.

I wouldn’t be too lyrical about Frenkie De Jong. I agree with several Dutch footies he is on a stand still. And that’s been going on since his transfer to Barcelona.

Pep could make him a better player and restart his progress. So could Ten Hag for that matter. Putting aside all the other shit that is going on within United.

I for one wonder if the player is able to stand up to the tempo and physicality of today’s PL standards.

For me he the kind of player that has such an understanding of the game that he can thrive in any team or any league.
