Foden Jesus Mahrez will be the front 3 imo I would have liked Jesus at RW though feel he would have given a bit of cover to the RB

Maybe to you but the winning of the CL would be worth millions more in sponsoring.
Also the players have a desire to win it and should be backed by our fans.
I'd rather win both, but of the two, I'd rather win the PL.

I don't think our players would be disappointed by "only" winning the PL either, especially being the best over 38 games.

How much contempt you show, using quotation marks in the word love because of course you think “you’re” the “real ones” and we’re “plastic”. It’s also incredibly false in perception — several fans from my continent much prefer the domestic titles. It’s also possible to have long term relationship with the club from afar and bond with the local community of fans. Brazilian City fans get together frequently to watch the games at bars, clubs or homes, we sing the chants and do everything you do at the stadium. Those of us that can also travel to watch games in Manchester or away when possible. I know North American fans behave the same way. Don’t underestimate us or pretend to know how we are. You want to say we don’t know how you feel, then I am entitled to say precisely the same to you. The unnecessary dig at knowledge of history is unbelievably stupid. I know MANY who have encyclopedic knowledge that probably trumps many of “historical fans”.
If you can't even pretend to have been at York away you're no one on this forum

I think the current set up is great. I can’t believe they are going to change it.

Let’s be honest. If it’s City vs Liverpool in the final, it’s the two best teams in the world.

Better teams mean better games and more entertainment!
Only thing I would change is to get rid of the last 16 round. If only one team qualified from the groups it would make the group stage much more exciting and competitive.

What's with all the loss options?
because if we lose the game by 2+ goals in 90 mins we’re out. if we lose the game by 1 goal in 90 mins we go to extra time. we can either win in extra time or penalties (lose in the 90 but win the tie in ET or pens) or lose the tie in extra time or on penalties (lose in the 90 and lose the tie in ET or pens).

hope that’s cleared it up for you bud

I wouldnt fancy us on pens
Depends to some extent which of our attacking players are still on the pitch after 120 mins. We just lost on pens at West Ham, but before that our record in pen shoot outs has been good, much better than our record in converting pens in normal play. I have faith in our players to keep their nerve in a shootout

Hang on I might need a couple of hours to dissect your permutations lol.

We will score at least two. We will have to have a seriously poor showing to concede four.

Foden and Kev to take them apart when it matters most.
I cannot recall ever reading a single bad post out of the tonnes you've posted on here mate.

This one needs to be filed right up there alongside your many top ones .

I once posted Bony was a top signing!!

With regards this game, I am not even nervous.

A vastly superior team in every way and if we turn up, we win, it really is that simple.

More worried about the impact on Newcastle and Wolves games.

The problem with that argument is that you cannot recreate the football envinonment from the 1960s to the 1980s. Then teams from the likes of Portugal, Holland, Yugoslavia, Poland, Romania, Scotland, Czechoslovakia, and even Sweden were competitive in European Competitions.

Not any more. Ajax are 15th and Porto are 16th in the European rankings, The rest of the top 20 come from the usual suspects: England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France. Even France as hanging on by their fingernails.

The fragmentation of Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and the USSR has caused much of this as has the re-unification of Germany.

There isn't a hope in hell that football will return to a one team per country European Cup and even those who advocate it know that dammed well.
I recently watched the documentary about Notts Forest’s European Cup runs. Those games against teams from smaller leagues were really tough. Forest’s team comprised of GB players, no superstar foreigners. The foreign minnows retained their best players. It was a much more even competition.

It was also striking how little Forest knew about their opponents. The lack of television coverage in those days meant that most of the opposition players were unknown over here. It was quite common in those days for a relatively small team to cause a shock because they would compromise of 9 grafters and a couple of unknown classy players who would dictate the match.

Spanish press are saying they will use a high press and match us man for man.

If that's true that plays right into our hands.

Like you I think we'll score at least 2
