West Ham United (A) | Post-Match Thread

If beating Villa at home to secure the title is considered ‘hard’ then you don’t have the personality of a champion. Give me Villa at home for the next 30 years on the final day with the result being the top prize and I’ll die a very happy blue.

Some of you going on about Gerrard spoiling the party? My mindset is imagine we’re a couple of goals up and the songs going around the stadium about him and Liverpool. It will be a nightmare for him.
Gerrard hates the red rum toothed, horsehair wigged, boxhead Klopp for bombing him out of Liverpool
We assume a Liverpool win against Southampton, naturally, while believing that Villa will turn into world-beaters against us - City fans in a nutshell.
Titanic sized upset if Southampton smash them

In fairness mate it was his overall performance that pissed me off, when we needed players to turn up. Then look at Gabby not his day but he tries like f**k and takes one for the team chasing back.
Mahrez is a wonderfully gifted player, but it's been apparent for a long time that he doesn't stand up well to pressure, either physical or mental, when he took the ball for the penalty I walked out of the room

Very proud of the lads for the way they rescued that point.

That now pretty much takes the GD situation out of the equation.

The pressure is now all firmly on the scouse cunts.

They have to win 2 games and hope we slip up. Hope is all they have.

I’ll take that.
At last,Hope in a sea of despair. well said.

That obvious Penalty not given for the foul on Jesus first half.

Was blatant, overt, in your face cheating.

That was 100% a nailed on Penalty.

Disgusting, and undermines the very purpose and integrity of VAR

The Club should make an official complaint over that. And the selective usage of Video content of VAR reviews and lines during Matches. There is definitely a direct correlation with bent decisions, and lack of Video reviews for viewers to review on Sky TV. That suggests direct collusion between Sky and the FA Premier League.

What a performance, played em off the park and got done by two breakaway goals but still had the bottle to fight back like that. What a fucking team we have, amazing team spirit.

THAT’S WHY WE’RE CHAMPIONS
Hang on, I thought we always bottle it?…:)

it's just typical city, it's what we do, we'll probably go behind next week as well

You know he missed that famous one a couple of seasons ago at Anfield and some thought he had cost us the title, he hadn’t. I think the same is true here. However we only have one more game before the big man comes here so he probably won’t get another opportunity to take one in a key game ever ago.
You can blame Mahrez all you want but the truth is we are not that great at penalties. Mahrez has missed them, KDB has missed them, Sterling has missed them, Gundogan has missed them. Mahrez is the designated penAlty taker at the moment. He just got unlucky today. It wasn’t really a poor penalty but I was a good save.

Obviously…do you not think it was odd he made no changes in the 2nd last game of the season after the amount of games we’ve played coupled with the quality sat on the bench?

As I replied to you earlier, we don't know who might be carrying injuries and Pep did not wish to risk them .

I’d have taken that at half time. I’m not sure how to feel really, obviously relieved not to lose after that shit first half, but fucking hell Mahrez, why did he have to bloody take it?

Please no Fern at centre back again, and no more Mahrez pens.

Christ the fuckers are making us sweat aren’t they.

By slip up you mean draw against Villa? I would much prefer a draw to be enough.
