Andy as I said, Raheem has been a great servant to the club. He can leave with his head held high for all he has achieved. But the past is the past and I feel now is the time to refresh the squad and cash in on players who may be regressing somewhat now.
Raheem is playing less and less now and it is probably the best time both for him and the club to find a new challenge. The club will save 300k in wages per week and receive a 50m transfer. If one of the top Spanish clubs come calling, then it will be a good move for both parties.

The reason he’s on the bench so much is because we’ve already got players who play in his positions.

Foden Jesus Mahrez Grealish Palmer Alvarez and Bernardo… can all play in any position that Sterling plays in.

Why let facts get in the way of an entrenched opinion?

Foden Jesus Mahrez Grealish Palmer Alvarez and Bernardo… can all play in any position that Sterling plays in.

There's a difference between being able to fill a position and being able to play it well. Pep hasn't trusted Phil to play on the right in ages, Jesus had a handful of good games there but will probably be off this summer, Grealish would be absolutely useless there and Alvarez hasn't even walked in the door.

The real key is whether or not Palmer will actually get more game time this season or not.

Even then, none of them have anything close to Raheem's pace and I think people would be justified in saying that we don't have much variety in our options on that side. It's pretty similar to the problem we had on the left until Phil showed he could shine there.
