Hard to argue, but I think they could have driven the price down, that’s all. It was clear at the time that Leeds were in deep shit and needed to offload to survive.
True, but sometimes I think it ‘pays’ to just put a non-negotiable sum on the table to get the player you want. All conjecture and hindsight now but I think most folk would think he was money well spent.

Looking at his Twitter page all Conn seems to write about is LFC(and this was before Paris). Perhaps Guardian sales figures are dwindling and he feels the need to pander to his core audience.

He doesn’t appear to reply on Twitter to responses to his obvious hypocrisy about City and him joining in with efforts to run us down. He does however readily reply to LFC fans who compliment his writings.

A fearless journalist he is not. Just another saddo running with the anti City media pack.

I think he did some fine Hillsborough investigation work & built up by a lot of relationships & support there.

From that his ego is probably continually massaged, his earning potential increased & the guardian wouldn’t dare fuck him off whilst he slags City & drools over the Dippers. His lack of objectivity makes him another long line Arse licking twats.

Just to put things in to perspective. After all the shit we read and have to put up with at the end of day it’s just a game of football and a lot of us get great pleasure watching the game and trying to work out how things work out. So I need to tell you all I love my football and most especially Manchester City and Tony Book who lived close to me. But most of all I would like to say good bye to my younger brother who died this morning at the age of 59yrs with his family beside him. He was a blue.
Keep strong mate

Salah to leave hopefully as soon as Mane is gone and they’ll be battling for Europa conference. If only Real or even Noocastol woukd
Come in for Salah!
If he's leaving because he can't get the money he thinks he deserves, then Salah is hopefully running down his contract to ensure he gets a decent last big pay packet somewhere.

BBC News have done a fantastic job of redwashing on behalf of Liverpool Football Club and Liverpool fans, funded by the TV licence payer.

The main issue being the spin on this the quote actually apologises to fans for witnessing traumatic events...this is a long way from admitting responsibility.
1, UEFA didn't print forged tickets
2,UEFA didn't but them.
3,UEFA didn't try to get in knowingly they were forged.
4,UEFA didn't invite fans to travel without tickets.
5,UEFA didn't ask for paper tickets MADRID did digital therfore no problems.
I'm hoping that the truth comes out but doubt it.

Strange how little reaction from Leeds fans compared to Allan Smiths transfer a decade later, probable difference is that Smith was a Leeds lad and meant to hate the scum. The crucifixion of Smith probably means he will be the last high profile Leeds Man Utd transfer . Nobody would want to bring on that level of abuse ,actually felt sorry for the lad, GPC wrecked his career and life.

How did it wreck his life?

According to the Fail Laporte is the latest Ciy player wanting a move out of the club. This time for Juventus "to get more game time".
What sort of alternate reality do these people inhabit. Laporte not only played far more matches that most of the squad (4th in terms of appearances) but played in all the important matches for City.

Just seen this, sorry for your loss Bob, there’s a lot of us older than your brother on here and it makes us appreciate how fragile life is especially in later years. RIP Blue.

And I doubt that many full internationals expecting to appear in the World Cup and so potentially playing 70 games will be looking to increase that amount of game time this year.

Why would he want to move when he’s at the peak of his powers playing under Pep in a City side averaging 2 trophies a season?

Always sad to lose another blue , condolences on your loss

I always mean to get the TV pundits' and writers' predictions of who will win trophies in the coming season, but I always forget.

Has anyone by any chance got any early-season predictions for the PL season just ended?

I expect Alyson Rudd said Liverpool would win it. Someone probably said United would be right up there.

It would be interesting if anyone has saved these forecasts. I shall definitely do it for the next season.

(Please not my use of the hyphen, which sadly seems too often ignored in these pages|)
