I'd also throw in Fofane & Doucoure at Lens. Fabian Ruiz is coming into the last year of contract as well, but napoli again ergh.

Martinez at Ajax. or even Alvarez at Ajax.

I don’t rate neither of the lens guys, even with sentimental value towards Seko. Fabian never played a solo dm in his life sadly. Need that player to be able to play the solo anchor

ah ok, always thought he was more of a CB than CM.

seems he has a few times for Napoli but not very much. - i know we were linked with him before, not sure how much legs it had though. Only why his name being up for free agency popped out.

Most of those are way below the quality level we seek. Some are decent shouts.

We need a guy who is Prem proven and will hit the ground running.Obviously coming to a new club doesn't mean thats a given.....but,along with the other boxes he ticks,at least Philips has that experience.

The guys from RB Leipzig are great runners and great in terms of pressing. They have outrun us in Leipzig with ease. So let's overpay for Phillips because he has experience. Bro, I understand you, but if we are paying, we need to require high quality. Phillips is not a progressive midfielder and in a team, with huge possession, it's the most important thing.

No progressive passes, no progressive carries, not good in overall creation. Sorry, but Fernandinho was great in every aspect of that, even when he was over 35. Phillips has good defensive stats, but you can find a better midfielder with good defensive stats as well and great in terms of overall progression.

Philips is very good on the ball,his passing and distribution is plenty good enough.

Im not sure people have watched much of him,it appears many have a preconceived perception of his abilities,and vastly under estimate his quality.

Quick comparison to Bennacer, Haidara, Thuram, Sangare & Laimer. Per 90

Phillips - Progressive pass distance 2nd, progressive passes 3rd. Interceptions 3rd. Tackles & Interceptions 1st. Cross field passes 2nd

They seem the most obvious we'd target, couldn't be arsed checking the rest. I do like Bennacer though.

Phillips might not create shots/assists but moving the ball. He can do that in his sleep.

A few on here judging him on an injury hit season where the team he plays for imploded and nearly got relegated as well. Not sure why exactly.

A few seemingly know the defensive midfield position better than Pep himself as well.

Remember the pelters when Pep signed Rodri for 60m. We will see the same here.
