Personally and this is just my view and I have no desire to get into a drawn out argument especially with established and respected posters.

Grealish did ok for his first year but for me it told that in the really important games such as the real and atletico games as well as the Liverpool game and the wolves away game Grealish was benched. Of course he contributed to us winning the league but for 100 million English pounds I want more from him. I know he’s said himself he played it safe and with himself but still he should be changing games or taking it by the scruff of the neck such as de Bruyne or Bernardo or even gundogan can do.

Ake. Again pep has him as 4th choice centre back. Again I like Ake and he did start to play well at the back end of the season when called upon but if stones/Laporte or Dias are fit then he’s not playing.
That’s what 140 million pounds between the. Look I just don’t think our recruitment has been as good as some make out over the last two years.

That’s my view and I’ll stick to it and will try to explain it as best I can. I’m happy to debate with you guys because if we all agree on everything then it will become boring.
Well, for what its worth, i agree with you.

The grealish one certainly sticks out. You have to think with that sort of money and some more astute scouting, you could pick up 2 or 3 quality players for that in positions we needed filled. The likes of luis diaz going for £45million shows what kind of players you can get for decent money. Its not Grealish's fault, he didnt set his transfer fee, but for that kind money the whole thing just seemed a bit unnecessary.

If we now go and end up paying £60m for kalvin phillips then we will have well and truly been bent over and had our arses slapped.

Come on what? I hugely rate Phillips and I think most of the people slagging him off will be eating humble pie if we sign him. He's going to be a beast in our team. I've not got anything else to say as obviously people have different opinions. If we sign him and he fails, I'll also be here for the pie being served me!
good! i'd like the argument for people to make to be "I want phillips because i think he's mint and worth it" instead of "well what about keita/maguire/X player who they overpaid for and failed", that's not reassuring!

6 weeks ago KP had a 90% pc rating vs City in a 0-4 Leeds loss. Wonder how many '90 minutes' players this season completed 90% of their passes vs City?

OK, so pay 60M£ for a guy who has had 90% passing success against us by coincidence. How many short passes? Did you count?

Btw wolves are getting palhinha from sporting for 20m. More than good enough to be backup here, but probably wouldn't want to just be a sub. Another option for squad depth as people here keep saying "what other options are there"

more and more a less Blue

May was a busy month for new sign ups who have since spent their whole time in the transfer forum. I'm convinced 99% of them are upset scousers.

I always feel that it's a bit more likely to be people who've finally decided that, well, after six league titles in a decade, City must be just about worth following for the glory.
Because the alternative is a truly desolate prospect. I always have difficulty in imagining that there are people with such a void in the place of a life that they would actually sign up to a rival team's forum in an adopted guise and then pretend to post comments ‘supporting’ that team. I am genuinely sad for such people, if they exist.
