Lavia's never playing for City again if we sign Phillips. We all know this.

I have to agree, and that is a huge shame as well as a kick in the bollocks for a lad who i believe can be top class.I really do think we should have made more of his development this past season, the EDS stunted his progress IMO.

Potentially, but it's not cut and dry

Lavia is 18, Phillips is 26....there is a an 8 year difference

Truth is unless Lavia is a once in a generation talent (Like Phil) he's probably not going to be in an amongst the first team untill he's about 22, by which point Phillips will be 30....and who knows Phillips may leave in those 4 years (similarly to how Ake is linked away after 2)

Give him a championship loan next summer, see how he does...maybe two year championship loan then a prem loan after that

This isn't FIFA (BTW I'm not saying you think this, this is a general comment) where a player progresses every year regardless, there are no guarantees with youth players

Love to see Lavia but at 18 I just can't see him being trusted /get enough gametime for the best squad in world football

Interesting

It looks likely we’ll sign Roca and possibly Tyler Adams as CM’s in the scenario Phillips leaves. We’ll still need more depth as Klich and Forshaw are midtable championship at best. Think he could be a useful signing.

Lavia would be a very good signing. Sounds like you guys are pretty much over Phillips leaving

I hope it's not a permanent deal for Lavia and I'd be surprised if it was. He's been training with the first team ever since he signed practically and was regularly on the bench last season. Pep obviously rates him and to sell at such a young age with such experience would be very strange.

Loan or buy back clause

If there's a buy back clause that means he'd been sold. Cannot see that.. Plus, is there any guarantee he would play in Leeds first eleven? Also, looking how Leeds returned to the bad old days of dirty Leeds under the new manager, I don't think he'd fit in.

David Ornstein said on The Athletic Football Podcast that once KP's change of agent goes through that the sources he's spoken to expect the deal to be done swiftly.
