It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I reckon internally that we will be thinking Palmer is ready to play more, we have gained Alvarez and Haaland. This allows Foden to go back out on the left or right.

Don't see any real issues. I reckon it's been well accepted in the club that Jesus and Sterling would go. Not sure why people are acting surprised now.
I think that's the plan. I also think it's a mistake.

Remember when we replaced Sane with Torres? Completely different players and we suffered as a result. Haaland is absolutely rapid, but at this rate he'll have no fucker able to keep up with him.

I think you have to replace Sterling like for like.

Fair point but if Sterling and Jesus leave that's 30 goals and 19 assists from last season we have to replace.

Not going to happen but Son Heung-Min would be a quality signing.

To be fair, i would expect Haaland alone to exceed those goals easily. And if we are lucky and Alvarez hits the ground running. He could perhaps chip in with 10+. With KDB, Grealish, foden etc...providing the assists.

So looks likely we are going to lose Torres, Sterling and Jesus and replace them with alvarez and Palmer (not gonna count haaland as he is a replacement for Sergio) Seems a huge gamble to me

Have to take into account with Sterling is the huge wage which will come off the books. Think City, imo, are keen to move him on.
What’s the point in taking his huge wage off the books if that money isn’t being used to replace him?

Well we will see. Pep is normally right, so we have to trust him.

I'd back Haaland to break away and score.
(Oh Erling Haaland I think we should pay him some more!)

We lost Sane and replaced him, went on and won several more trophies and got to a CL final. "Suffered" is a bit extreme.

Pep changes things around, we had out and out pace for years and now we have gone more technical and slow.

Now we are bringing in a monster of a ST, so we are going to change again. It's all an evolution.

the "haaland is a replacement for sergio" crowd need to realize we bought grealish to accommodate the false 9, we have too many wingers and no striker, because one had to play striker. now that we have a striker, it makes sense that a winger will go. don't be silly, haaland is a replacement for, well, torres.

Suffered may be extreme, but we haven't hit the heights of our attacking play since Sane was injured and then sold.

I’m absolutely fine losing Jesus but the prospect of losing Sterling concerns me.

Sterling is very much under appreciated he scores so many goals, his movement is brilliant, his pace is a huge weapon and his injury record is incredible. Will be a big signing for Chelsea imo
