I don't see it being about money, I am sure we would pay him if he asked. He might just want a change, hes won pretty much everything he can in England and now fancies something different.

Won't hold it against him, ran his bollocks off since he joined, boiled the scousers piss and more than contributed to trophies.

thats what I thought.

Mostly media echoes, but Laporta has namechecked him a couple of times. In snide jokes, but enough to acknowledge he is on their list. Xavi has responded to questions about him, and Bernardo himself has not shut it down with his 'we'll see' when asked about it.

It is obvious the interest is real and the parties, including his agent who is cited as a source a fair bit, are in discussions.

I do also imagine working with Pep can be quite draining, as satisfying as the result may be. Think we see that with Sterling at times too.

Money talks at the end of the day just double his pay that will cheer him up

Money is not everything, if it was Bernardo will already signed new contract extension months ago and tell his agent to shut down the rumor that he will left a club and makes his own concrete statement in press that he will stay at City next season.

Yep said similar the other day. It is the consequence of having such an intense manager. Tbf it must be exhausting playing under pep both physically and mentally.

The weight players give elite agents like Mendez is common unfortunately, he’ll either be positioned into a career defining contract or seek it elsewhere, it’s probably Mendez last in terms of maximising £££ due to new rules and potentially Bernardo’s peak period, me personally. I think he deserves pay parity with top earners and we show him his worth… I just can’t see who we bring in and replicates his worth, coupled with paying money on top of what we get…. I’ve been of the opinion we respect his wishes but I’m now edging towards hard ball, this is Mendez led and we should put him in his place!
For me he is one of the first picks on the team sheet and if he does depart he will leave a big hole to fill. His workrate is phenomenal and without him Rodri sometimes struggles, certainly against the top sides.

The biggest question for me is who would you replace him with? He's established himself as a CM for us now and is one if not the most important players we have.

and eric garcia

Barca are vermin aren’t they? Tailing off other clubs to stay relevant in the market when they can’t afford anything.

Some cheek to be openly disrespecting another club when everybody in the football world is laughing at how much of a state they are. Wankers

If we lost him it would knock a little of the gloss off our transfer window. He is pretty much irreplaceabl.
