It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

This is the tip of the iceberg. Just imagine when all our CFG academies are rolling out young stars. A few gems will come to City and the best of the rest will have good careers and fund the operation.
I’d love to believe this would happen but we’ve got to remember we’re talking about people here who have every right to make their own decisions. No matter their talent you can ship them around like cattle.

It's so Ironic and hypocritical that Chelsea sold Hazard in his last year and got extortionate fees for him. Yet they feel they can buy an English International who has won multiple trophies and performing at the highest level for 7 straight years, with great G/A stats, with less money~£35-45M, they are proposing is just silly, given that they are a direct rival.

But anyway, it is what is. Let's get that £50-60M for Sterling, that will be good business and lets strength the rest of our squad.
I can see what you are saying, Hazard around that time when Real Madrid paid that money for him was possibly one of the best in Europe he was in top of his game. Silly from a Real Madrid perspective spending so much on a player that has only one year left on his current deal especially how it's all worked out with Hazard it has to go down as one of the worst signings in football history.

Raheem the last 2 seasons looks like he has taken a massive drop in form. I said last year it looks like his career at City is trickling out it had all the signs of a player needing a change and I think it will do us the world of good too freshening up the front line.

Personal terms are always agrees before the fee with clubs. We do it all the time.

I believe that there is, as ever, an exception to this rule;

"However, negotiations have been ongoing and now United are said to be much closer to meeting Barcelona's €80m (£68.6m) asking price for the midfielder.

According to Catalan outlet Sport, the Barcelona midfielder still needs to give his approval and negotiate a deal with United - but the club are confident a deal will be struck by 30 June..."

What about selling Sterling to Chelsea and beating them to dembele ? I know he is injury prone and I am guessing he has not done what was expect when he moved to Barcelona but we have a strong squad we can cope with one injured forward but we still need to replace Sterling also is he not free agent or something

Read your post back. Seriously…

One thing City won't do is panic. If the right player is available they will go for it, if not they will wait.

I do wonder if we'll wait a season for Nkunku? Supposedly has a €60m release clause from summer 2023. That deal would be right up our street.

The same goes with selling too. If they are happy to wait for the right target, they will be happy to wait for Sterling to leave as well, even if on a free.

I see the Barcelona media are bored again. Bernardo Silva's dream move, his agent is away to see if he can make his dream come true. Bernardo himself hung around outside the corridors while Barcelona chiefs were here negotiating the Torres deal in January, in the hope they would take him with them.

lol is that fan fiction?

Stating the obvious here....but that's not true,as some are very much better than others.
Indeed. Which is why the club is incredibly smart with buy-back/sell-on clauses. The academy works brilliantly. It's provided a constant income stream and allowed Foden to become, arguably, world class. Palmer looks like he might get close.

You seem to follow the academy much more closely than many on here. Out of interest, which of these 'very much better' lads do you think the club regret letting go/selling? Many people would argue Sancho, but we got good money for him, his attitude stinks and he's been bang-average for over 12 months.

Still can’t haven’t got over the Burnley miss, crazy I know but how could anyone miss that let alone a professional international footballer? Ditto the Lyon miss.
Its strange how negative moments stick in your head, I still haven't got over Kevs miss against Chelsea when he hit the bar from about 2 yards out
